Canada's only sci-fi and fantasy television awards show. SPACE's annual celebration of genre entertainment.

In a sea of boring television award shows, the SPACEYS is the only one that avoids podiums and red carpets. Instead, we take the show around the globe to stalk find the winners, wherever they happen to be, and present them with our much coveted silver alien-head statuette!

Highlights from this year's show include Star Trek's George Takei accepting the award for Favourite Classic TV Show by having it teleported to his desk while answering piles of fan mail; an elated David Hewlett from Stargate Atlantis who plays Rodney McKay accepting the award for Favourite TV Character running around the set chanting "in your face Jack Bauer" who was one of his competitors in the category; and a "where-are-they-now" look at Darth Maul.  A Lifetime Achievement Award went to the famous Hollywood chimp Cheeta, of Tarzan fame, who kissed his SPACEY in appreciation of the honour.  Special Achievement nods went to movie memorabilia collector Bob Burns and Oscar and Emmy award-winning make-up artist, Michael Westmore, best known for his work on various Star Trek productions.

The winners of The 2007 SPACEY Awards are as follows:

That Brandon Routh was pretty excited about winning and said he will be in Vancouver Canada next year to do the sequel of Superman Returns and is excited to come up and see Canada and our culture as he never has been here before. He was really 'shocked' he won, which sort of surprised me, but it is great to see actors serious about winning an award that is probably unknown outside of Canada.

Superman Returns won two and Smallville won one but Joe Shuster one of the Supermans creators is Canadian.

Good to hear that they are making another Superman. I liked the one that came out recently.
