I has been one of the most controversial and successful hasn't it?
Plus it's managed to hammer the final nails in the coffins of Jade and Jo Mear's careers. They were shit celebs three weeks ago, but they're absolute nobodies now.  )

By the way... I see a BBC forum has been created, and that this post has been moved to there.
Please note that BB isn't a BBC programme... it's a Channel 4 prog. (We're not limited to BBC only, ya know!)
You might want to edit the forum name so it reads just 'UK TV' or something like that...?

| Hey I have a question for you guys. Apparently, Shilpa Shetty, a Bollywood actress was on this show a short while ago. Is that right? And there was one girl who was really mean to her. Is that right? I briefly read that this mean girl made a racism remark on Shilpa Shetty and a couple of fanatic Shilpa Shetty fans started protesting. What was that about?

You're right. The main persone was called Jade Goody who won BB some time ago and now thinks she is in the same celebrity class as Jennifer Love Hewitt or Katie Holmes and even Pamela Anderson.
She was pictured in the UK newspaper alongside a picture of Miss Piggy (Muppets) with the caption underneith - "Which one is Miss Piggy".
See what they mean?
She abused Shilpa Shetty by calling her names like "popadom" and telling her to 'F' off back to her shack in India and mimicing her speach with an Indian accent and puting down everything Shilpa said and lots more.
She was backed up by another couple of nobodies who also are now in trouble.
I think they were envious of Shilpas looks and figure, and the only way they knew to get the better of her was to abuse her.

It was Danielle not Goody who said that.
I think more was read into the race issue than was necessary. I was more concerned about the general ganging up and bullying. The issues regarding race where really petty and just another form of girls bitching but everyone leapt on them from a great height like it was more important than everything else.

New Delhi, Feb 6 (IANS) After receiving a legal notice from Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, Jasveer 'Jazz' Barton, who was instrumental in getting her 'Celebrity Big Brother' show, has fled the country.
The actress, who won the show with a majority votes, sent a legal notice to Jazz and Bobby Khan Monday for badmouthing her and her family in the media and posing as her agent.
'Rohini Vakil, who is Shilpa's lawyer, sent the notice on her behalf. She sent it last evening and it was received by Jazz. Her signature is on the proof of delivery. Few hours after receiving the summons, she packed her bags and left the country because she knew she will get into trouble,' Dale Bhagwagar, Shilpa's publicity manager told IANS.
'She has told newspapers in London that Shilpa's mother has come to here to milk her daughter's success. She also signed deals and took money on Shilpa's behalf posing as her legal agent, which she isn't,' added Bhagwagar.
Referring to an article published in a newspaper, the notice said that Shilpa was shocked to find the article on the front page of Mumbai Mirror, reporting that she has duped Bobby and Jazz.
After accepting the offer to appear on the reality show, Shilpa signed a contract with the Endemol, producers of the show. However, the actress did not get into any kind of agreement with Bobby and Jazz to represent her or act in the capacity of her agents or managers etc.
'We are sending a follow-up notice to Jazz. As she has fled the country, it will be sent to her London address. We will not succumb to her demands. Her fleeing the country proves that she was wrong,' said Bhagwagar.

She just met Tony Blair ...
LONDON (Reuters) - Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, reveling in her newfound fame after winning a British reality television show, personally thanked Prime Minister Tony Blair on Wednesday for his support following a racist bullying row.
The "Celebrity Big Brother" winner, who was tormented by some fellow contestants on the live programme, said Blair had been "very, very sweet" during a six-minute meeting and had given her a portrait of parliament signed by himself and his wife, Cherie.
The glamorous actress, wearing a white sari, caused a media storm at parliament as scores of Indian and British journalists pursued her - to the distress of parliamentary officials who enforce strict rules on visitors.
"He said I carried myself with utmost dignity and that he was very sad to see what I had to go through in the (Big Brother) house," Shetty told some 80 reporters outside parliament.
A planned news conference inside the building was shelved by parliamentary gatekeepers citing security concerns.
Earlier, Shetty watched Blair perform in the weekly session of prime minister's question time, during which Blair condemned racism in all its forms in response to a lawmaker's question.
Shetty emerged victorious from the Big Brother House last month after being subjected for weeks to disparaging remarks from some fellow contestants that sparked international uproar. Viewers vote to evict contestants and she was the last member.
The A-list Indian star was called a "dog" on the programme and was referred to as "the Indian" and "Poppadom".
She told reporters on Wednesday that parliamentarians were much more polite than her fellow contestants.
"I thought it'd be really boring, but I quite enjoyed it," she said of her visit that included meetings with other ministers, lunch with lawmakers and several photo calls.
Shetty confirmed that she would be publishing a book of her Big Brother experiences but denied rumours she was planning on entering Indian politics.
"I've never really been politically inclined. Nobody has spoken to me about joining any party," she added.
Asked about her feelings towards her Big Brother tormenters, who have been vilified in the British press, she said she bore no grudges.
"I have forgiven them and I have moved on and I request that the media moves on. I don't want them to suffer," she said.
Blair's spokesman later said he had been pleased to meet Shetty, pointing out that her triumph had underlined that there is no room for racism in Britain.
