TVDinner wrote: Well yesterday was an interesting day. work was fine and basically normal and then I picked up Cole from daycare, which also was fine. He smiled big and flirted with every woman there which was funny. Then my wife's mother came over to babysit for Cole while we went out for dinner and a movie. We went to see Blades of Glory (I posted my review), which was pretty average to bad. But we did have fun getting out for a few hours. It was 84 degrees here so we sat outside when eating and then walked a little after the movie. Good time.

Half the fun of going out to watch a movie is going out itself.  Especially when the movie theater is located where you can take a walk around, it is very enjoyable.

well I am Mr. Mom today. Cole's daycare is closed for the holiday and I am working from home with him. So far it has been a fun morning. We went to my companies storage unit, we went to the post office, we went to the grocery store and to the video store. We had fun at each place and Cole was a good boy. Got home and fed him and then back to work for me while he is playing in his bouncy seat!!! Fun fun fun!

Crazy Easter day today for me. i drove one of our company cargo vans 12 hours to our Florida offices and warehouse. 12 hours straight in a bouncy old van is not fun, lol. At least I stopped a few times to get gas and food and stretched a little. Very tired and sore right now. going to bed. More tomorrow morning.

Big day of training today on some new products. Lots to learn, but it is fun and the products will be fun to sell down the line. On a short break right now and then back to the warehouse to learn learn learn.

I just watched the 60 Minutes story on the Duke lacrosse charges being dropped against the 3 male students.

1) I am pissed that no charges are being charged against the woman who made these FALSE CHARGES. I understand that she has kids and might (MIGHT and currently unproven) have mental problems - but TO BAD. Her lies have ruined other lives and cost the state TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. She should have to pay for her lies, just like the boys would have paid if found guilty.

2) I am pissed that the African American community and leaders (BOTH local leaders and national ones including Sharpton and J. Jackson and everyone who commented publicly about the case) have not come out AND APOLOGIZED for protesting, calling these kids names, the death threats and GENERAL UNTRUTHS THEY spewed.

3) I am pissed that the attorney for the state will not go to jail, just like those kids might have. He might lose his job and lose his law license - but NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

This entire situation whizzes me off to no end....

what a day yesterday. A one day business trip to South Bend Indiana that really wore me out. Got up at 3:30am to head to the airport. got there and made it to Indiana with no delays. I then had meetings most of the day and was back at the airport at 7pm for my flight home. This is when the delays began, especially with my layout flight in Chicago. I finally got back home at 1:30am, completing the 22 hour day. I am tired and going to sleep a lot of today.

They're publicity whores.  They might have done good things in the past, but lately, they just do anything to show their faces on TV ...

they don't own up to their mistakes (hymietown, tawana bralley lie (sorry about the poor spelling) ) and then they never apologize if they were wrong. I am not opposed to them being vocal leaders for their community, but I am opposed to them making a huge noise about something and then not owning up if they were incorrect and just disappearing from site.

Sunday morning, barely slept at all last night. The baby was fussy for the first night in a while. we think he has a cold or stuffy nose or something like that. he is not in a bad mood or crying or anything, but he is coughing a lot and all snotted up. We look at him and he is smiling and playing and wanting to have fun, but then he coughs for about 5 seconds with the same sound and cadence to his coughs. This only happened last night and this night when he was sleeping. During the day he seems to clear up and be fine. And he is so so cute that I can not just let him fall back to sleep. He smiles at me and that is it, I am holding him while he coughs...and laughs.

Have you got a humidifier to put in his room BEFORE he goes to bed?
(I am against things running in babies rooms whilst they are in their unless under doctors orders)

Also try the camphor blocks in a hanky pinned to the sheet at the bottom of his cot. Poor little bugger.

We went to the beach this weekend to see my parents. It was a last minute thing and we left Friday night, drove 5.5 hours to an island off South Carolina where my parents beach house is. We got there really late Friday night, after 1am. Saturday it was about 90 degrees and the day was really nice walking on the beach, finding shells, playing in the ocean etc. It was the baby's first trip to the beach! lots of good pictures. Sunday we all had breakfast, played on the beach, ate lunch and then drove back the 5.5 hours tonight. Was a tiring 3 days, but totally worth it to get out of town for a few days and spend time at the beach with family. fun.

well a few days after getting back from the beach I can tell you this.
1) I miss being there already and wish I could go back
2) my neck, head, and forehead are completely peeling off, lol. I have put so much lotion on them and nothing is working. It is pretty funny.
Been a busy week. I might have to have some minor surgery, but it is to early to report anything definite yet. Will know more next week. Oh well. Thank goodness it is Friday, lol

Off to a family birthday party for someone on my wife's side. He is turning 70. Should be a fun party and they are doing a "fish fry". So there should be some good food there. Leaving soon.

well tonight was the first night that the baby was "a baby" when we went out to eat. Normally he has been amazing and either sleeps right through any meal we go out to eat, or just hangs out. Well tonight he was extra fussy and just cried and cried and cried. We finally gave up and just got our food to go. We were not upset or anything like that because we knew that eventually it would happen. Oh well. And of course right when we got into the car he stopped crying or making any noise at all...and fell asleep. He is still sleeping now. Amazing.

Some days I really just don't know why I go to work. it seems that my entire existance is just to get the next paycheck to pay the next set of bills. I wonder regularly how we got to be like this. Everyone working just to pay bills, buy food, and survive. If you break it down and sometimes it depresses me to do this - we literally work and do everything everyday just to pay bills.

Think about it honestly. All the money goes to rent for the roofs over our head, food to feed us, clothing to cloth us, credit card bills to pay for the things we have to have when we live beyond our means, daycare to watch our children, college to pay for education, gas so we can drive from home to work and back again, car, health and life insurance, etc etc etc etc etc.... And what little extra that is left has to be put in savings account to be ready for emergencies or other out of the blue "bad things" (which they always seem to be) pop up at the worst time.

Shouldn't life be about more then this?

had to visit one of our business locations last night. popped in unannounced and watched the employees, entertainers, etc. Was good to be hands on and just watch. It never stops amazing me that some people actually just think they can fool us, or not do their jobs yet still grandstand. humorous.

Went to the big NASCAR race in Charlotte yesterday with 4 other of my friends. We left at 6:30am and drove the 3 hours to Charlotte. Once there we went to Bob Evans for a nice breakfast. Bob Evans is always good. We then headed to the track and got there early, or so we thought. There was already well over 150,000 people there by 11am and by the middle of the afternoon there was around 200-250,000 people at the track. Everyone was drinking, tailgating, eating, playing outdoor games like horseshoes, and much more. We parked our cars and pulled out the big coolers of beer, other drinks and food. We also went to the big Jack Daniels private tailgate party because the local rep is a friend of ours. That was great. Free Jack Daniel's brands drinks, steak, shrimp, giveaways, etc. Also a lot of people we knew, which was great. The race started at 5:50 and had about 13 crashes and cautions, which made it last forever and ever. It was already a 600 miles race, but this was really long. We kept eating and drinking and smoked a few cigars, which was nice. And then we drove the 3 hours back home. Was back at home by 2am. Long day, but a good one.

Been an incredibly busy past 7 days. We had a huge event to produce last week for 4 days and that was 4 18 hour days in a row setting up everything and then tearing it all down again. Was a great production, but very hot all week and long hours. Then this weekend I had 3 (THREE!!!) family events in a row on Saturday and Sunday, so I still could not get any rest. Finally on Sunday I fell asleep literally sitting at the computer. Almost fell off my chair. Was sad and funny to be honest. My wife found me slumped over and made me go to bed. Monday I overslept, missed a boring meeting I really did not have to attend and then the rest of the week has been "business like usual", which means - busy.
