I did not even thing of that. I could do that.
I also wonder if they have the episodes online on NBC.com like they do with the Heroes and other shows. I will investigate that this weekend.

ok first off this is my number 1 favorite show on tv at current....over greys, over ER, over House, any of them....

Season 1 is out and available for purchase.

I'm from Texas, born and raised, where football is a way of life.  My town basically shuts down except for the corperate business's and we go support our local team.

this show embodies what small town football is.  the characters are realistic, the action is great and the plot makes great sense.

my only complaint is that the show is on Friday nights at 8:00.....WHEN LOCAL FOOTBALL GAMES KICK OFF!!!!! come on NBC you need to think of these things.

ok so sesaon 2, my personal thoughts:

WTF is up with Lyla going born again???? she left the last season being rebellious with Tyra and came back "found fresh in the faith".  same thing for Riggins, he started to show heart and character at the end of last season but started this one man whoring again.

I personally dont  like this new coach nor do i think he will be around long..he's filler till they get far enough into the season that he can cause some drama, get fired, and they can bring Coach Taylor back.

Landry might be my favorite character this season.  we'll see after this next episode.

ok my brain is fried right now so i'm ending this post...feel free to ask more and give me some post to feed off of.

so, did Landry and Tyra ditch the body over the bridge and into the river. They should have just called the cops and acted in self defense, they would have gotten off. Will they hook up?

I feel bad for Matt poor kid cant enjoy being QB1.

You know coach Taylor is coming back.

Lyla being born again is pretty dumb IMO. Riggens got her good about being her the best he's ever had and enjoying Hedionism. Hell go for it bro lol.

What ever they do, they need to stop jerking around with the time and day, pick one and go for it.

we are ment to assume that they did dump the body..but were never shown for sure.  they will kiss at least, dont see landry geting any ass.

Matt needs to grow a set and not sound like a pussy when it comes to julie.  though she got her humble pie last week.

I'm saying he'll be back in.....4 episodes or less.

totally agree with this... see above post.

AMAZING episode!!!!!

first thing that comes to mind....ATTA BOY LANDRY!!!!!!!!!! even if it took the whole episode for me to see what i knew would happen i wouldnt have lined it up any other way. his speach in the middle of the episode about being a man took him to the top of my character list, outscoring minka kelly who previously held top honors due to the Hottie factor.

second, julie has turned into a spoiled bitch whore dog. the red number she wore tonight, while it did flatter her funbags, was totally inappropriate. i really want "the sweed" stuff to end. matt doesnt deserve to be run all over.

i could have done without the segment with the TMU player and coach...it just ate time and tried to detour my thoughts from the fact that he WILL be returning to the Panthers (this was made before i saw the preview of next weeks episode).

Lyla is gonna nail riggens again, and i hope he tames the " god child" down...that scene where she was praying with the other holy rollers at the table is part of the reason i dislike a structured church....but thats another story.

does tami fuck the science teacher???? i say she kisses him and tells coach that he has to come back or more might happen...know what i'm saying?

Buddy's character is my all time least favorite probably because he reminds me of a couple guys here in town. his drunken stupor basically sealed the deal for me though.

does it seem like smash is getting a lot fewer air time than he did in the past...we seem to be focusing on Landry, Tyra, Tami, Coach, Julie, Sweed and then the rest of the cast....i personally think i need some changes to occur in the near future. be it school just got back into session tonight, we better get some football action on screen.

i'll post more later.

I think once the season starts you will see the ole Smash in action. His character is more about football then life., and we already had him as the prime role last season for a bit.

The hole thing about the Swede is annoying. Julie was all over Matt's jock all last year and on a turn of a hat she doesnt want to be linked to him? They turned this relationship to fast IMO.

Hell I thought Tyra would have dropped right there and then when Landry gave her the whole speech on being a man. You know her panties got wet when he said that he always loved her.

Buddie is what Riggens will become if he doesnt right the ship, I think that the producers are going to give Riggens some growing up.

Poor Tami, she went overboard with the emotions, totally understand where she is coming from since my wife went that route after our son was born.

Great show, cant wait till Friday.

I watched this for the first time tonight and really enjoyed the show.
Smash seems like a cocky jerk who is only out for himself. QB seems to actually know what he is talking about as a couch, but the "mascot" line from the real head coach was brutal and pretty mean.
The kid who is drinking all day is pretty sad, but he seems to be trying to turn himself around.
And finally who does not think that the coach is going to get royally screwed when he tries to come back. The previews seemed to confirm that.

Now looking forward to next weeks and future shows.

first let me say i'm glad we have another follower of the best show on nbc to date. that said, i'll start my character rundown.

First, We all knew Coach Taylor would be back and in reference to my past post.. I called it to the episode.  He has too strong of character to put his dreams infront of his family.  Though he did go to TMU he realized what he was truely missing.

Julie's attitude, i feel, will calm down having her dad back but it will not be instant.  its going to take a heartfelt talk with her mother (more than likely involving something to do with the swede.) i dont see her and matt getting back together but i personally am not sad about that.

with that said, i see matt kissing the home health nurse.  no relationship but he kisses her.

Landry didnt fail to impress me yet again.  he's the George of FNL.(Grey's fans will get that).  his look to Tyra at school said it all.  he may have doubt about how Trya feels but its dropping by the minute.  I see his dad getting him out of the whole deal with probation or something.  more than likely kicked off the team but frankly he doesnt belong there.  he did it to get Tyra and now that he has her based off different reasons, he doesnt need the team backing...hence him not playing in the season opener.

Matt completely surprised me taking Smash down at the game but it was a good surprise.  i actually said "good for you" out loud (though that doesnt speak to my character talking to a fictional character on the tv, but i digress...)  i was pissed when he apologised to Coach about Julie breaking up with him but by the end of the episode he was back in my good graces.

Riggens...oh where do i start.  i'm glad he's making an effort to get back with Lyla but i want him to do it for himself, not to get back at his neighbor... or to be back in a relationship.  he needs to work on his relationship with Street first anyway (which i see should happen in the next episode...I'm calling that Coach Taylor bails them out...mark it down).

i'm about to rewatch the episode so i might add more later.

when I played high school ball we had a player do almost the same thing and clock another when his head just got to big. It was a momentary fight and a few players picked sides and talked tough, but in the end it was needed and the tension release got everyone back to reality and the team gelled better after. That being said the incident I mentioned happened in private in a locker room and NOT at the end of a big game and in front of thousands of fans. That would have NEVER EVER happened, regardless of how big a jerk one of them was being. Our coach would have thrown one OR BOTH of the players right off the team without a second's thought for embarrassing the team like that.

Also, I know I have missed a lot, but how in the world is Riggins a well known underage drunk alcoholic and getting away with it. I totally understand Texas high school football, but it is a little ridiculous on the show.

the first thing that drew me to this show was football...the thing that made me a huge fan was the reality.  Football players, right or wrong, are treated like gods down here.  getting gifts, beer, girls...hell one football player i know has been seen getting things bought for him by random people. and i'm not talking about small things.....he's getting like outfits, shoes, nothing extravagant but still like 150 bucks or more.

Dillon is thought of as a small town...more than likely set in Rural West Texas. its a whole different breed of people down  here.

who watched this week?
I can't believe that Coach would come back at all without some more assurances that he had the job. I mean he is a smart man and had to know that the current coach would not go quietly.

the boys head back to Texas. Thank god he did not have the surgery that would have not done anything.

Of course the Coach Taylor is still getting screwed with the new job. his pay is all messed up. Buddy, the car dealer is a SLIME BALL and nothing is EVER what he says...EVER.

I knew Coach would not let Tim back on the team easily.
Smash made a lot of sense to Tim at dinner I thought.

Finally Landry had to come clean about the killing....finally. And then the dad burned the car. I could not believe that.

Anyone else still watching this show with me?

so do I. I think it will be a big stir and then all self defense when the girl gets involved and then maybe they can date again.

who else thinks we are going to have a teacher-student relationship plot. they are setting it up pretty obviously IMO
