A police detective who gets his job back and a cash settlement after spending 12 years in Prison for a crime he did not commit.
He has a recovery addict as a partner (who her boss wants her to report anything he does wrong or she could lose her job) and is trying to solve his case at the same time.

From NBC's website -
From Rand Ravich ("The Astronaut's Wife"), Far Shariat ("Confessions of a Dangerous Mind"), and David Semel, who directed the pilot of NBC's "Heroes," "Life" is a new drama about a detective who is given a second chance. Damian Lewis ("Band of Brothers") stars as complex, offbeat Detective Charlie Crews, who returns to the force after years in prison, thanks to close friend and attorney Constance Griffiths (Brooke Langton), after serving time in prison for a crime he didn't commit.
The cast also includes Sarah Shahi ("Rush Hour 3") as Charlie's skeptical, demanding partner, Robin Weigart (HBO's "Deadwood") as their hard-hitting lieutenant, and Adam Arkin ("Chicago Hope") as former cellmate Ted Early.
"Life" is a Universal Media Studios production. Rand Ravich is executive producer and writer; Far Shariat and Dan Sackheim are executive producers on the series; David Semel is executive producer and director on the pilot.

This show did pretty good too.
At 10 p.m. ET, the series premiere of "Life" (4.1/11 in 18-49, 10.1 million viewers overall) won its highly competitive hour in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and all key male demos. "Life" scored NBC's highest rating in this time period since June 21, 2006 and improved on NBC's premiere-week 18-49 rating in this time period last season by 46 percent (4.1 vs. 2.8) and the network's year-ago overall viewer total by 34 percent (10.1 million vs. 7.6 million).

F*CK....i had to beat my gf last night, when I realized she didnt dvr it for me......i used my texas belt buckle and everything....lol

So I just saw this during my lunch break on nbc.com and I'm very impressed. It looks promising and the acting was great.
The last scene with the tractor made me almost cry....lol

This show is becoming very intriguing to me.
Actually well written and acted. I think it is one of the better new shows this season.
It seems like quite the cover up to set him up and so many potentially involved. The missing money is another interesting thing. Dani's father is into this up to his eyeballs.
