Las Vegas is Friday nights dirty pleasure. The show features more 1/2 naked beautiful women and super cool men, all packed into one action filled hour each week. And then toss in tough guy James Caan and this is a can't miss show on Friday nights.
Both women and men like this show, which is rare.

This show has been moved to different nights a few times and it does not seem to be losing viewers at all. Friday nights might be its final show night and hopefully it will not be moved again.

From NBC's website about the show -
From Gary Scott Thompson -- the writer of the hit film “The Fast and the Furious” -- comes “Las Vegas,” now entering its third season. This fast-paced, sexy drama follows the elite Las Vegas surveillance team charged with maintaining the security of one of “Sin City’s” largest resorts and casinos.
In the explosive season-season finale, the Montecito Resort and Casino was blown up in an effort to make room for a new Montecito and a new owner.
Oscar and Golden Globe Award nominee James Caan (“The Godfather,” “Misery”) stars as Ed Deline, the head of the surveillance team for the Montecito Resort & Casino. With his protégé, Danny McCoy (Josh Duhamel, “All My Children”) a former U.S. Marine and Las Vegas native, they deal with card-counting cheaters, costly streaks of random luck and rival casinos stealing their big-money players. Rounding out this cast of high rollers is Ed’s daughter, Delinda (Molly Sims, MTV’s “Starsky and Hutch”), Mary Connell (Nikki Cox, “Nikki”), Mike Cannon (James Lesure, “For Your Love”) and Samantha “Sam” Jane (Vanessa Marcil, “Beverly Hills, 90210”). Lara Flynn Boyle (“The Practice,” “Men in Black II”) will join the cast this season as the flamboyant new owner of the Montecito Casino who immediately causes a commotion when the series returns this Fall.
Thompson also serves as executive producer along with Gardner Stern (NBC’s “Law & Order,” “NYPD Blue”), Justin Falvey (“Rescue Me”) and Darryl Frank (“Rescue Me”) for this series from NBC Studios and DreamWorks Television

Tonights show was another good one. It had the "Las Vegas trademark" fill of scantily clad women, - mixed with action, adventure, humor, and trashy evening soap plot and story lines.

When a former Montecito Casino employee returns with her new husband, played by an aging Judd Nelson (where have the St. Elmo Fire days gone!), things go crazy when he is seen kissing a hooker/dancer. The former employee is one of Ed's favorites, but she is a deceiving woman who seems to have an agenda. She gets into everyone's business and in the end is caught in a scam with the hooker/dancer trying to blackmail money from her new husband. Danny and Mike catch.

Mary and Sam's fight with the bank OK Go is funny and they keep upgrading their pranks on each other, until they decide to kiss and make up and literally share one of the longest woman on woman kisses on network TV seen in a long time. The soap (or whipped cream) in Sam's car was funny.

Another good show for this consistently strong series. Anyone else see this week's show?

3/9/07 - Big episode tonight

Sam is missing and Mike is looking for her because Ed wants to talk to her. The rumors are swirling about Sam's money problems.

Danny punched Ed at the end of the last show and Delinda did not know about it but finds out when Mary is sitting at the bar drinking. She sees that Mary has a gun in her bag and tells Danny right as he is coming into the casino.

Sam wakes up and she is gagged and in a luggage box. The whale player from last week has drugged her and tied her up. Mike goes to her apartment and it is trashed and her dog has not been walked all day. Ed tells Mike to find Sam. Mike starts watching tape to find where Sam had been all day.  There was a 3 minute glitch in the cameras (on last show) and now they think that this was planned to catch grab Sam while the cameras were down.

At the same time Sam is rocking back and forth in the luggage and knocks it over and finally opens it up, but she is still tied up. She rubs her mouth tape off on the floor and starts yelling for help, but no one is on the high roller floor. While she is trying to rolls to the phone the jerk whale is coming back to his room. She pulls it off the table and tries to dial with her elbow. He is getting closer and closer to the room while she is struggling to get the phone to work.

Danny's friend from the service shows up at the casino. He saved his life in battle and does not want to go back for another tour. Delinda tells Danny that they need to talk. It seems important. Danny's friend is having a real hard time with having to go back. He is having nightmares and problems. Mike says he will make a few phone calls and see what he can do.

Ed's wife comes in and gives Ed divorce papers. If he buys the casino then she will divorce him. Delinda tells Ed about Mary's gun. Sam is still locked in the luggage box while all of this is going on. Mary goes into a staff bathroom, she is a little drunk and obviously planning something bad with the gun with her recently released father, who did terrible things to her as a child. While in the bathroom Delinda is also in a stall and tells Mary that she is pregnant. Delinda then finds Danny and wants to tell him that she is pregnant, but again his military friend shows up again and she can't tell him.

1/2 way through the show commercial break.

2nd half of tonight's show.

the crazy rich guy catches Sam before she can make a call and retapes her mouth. He is really crazy. he is getting ready to check out and is planning to take Sam in his luggage.

Danny makes more calls to try to help his friend out of his 3rd tour in Iraq. But he cant get him out of it and he tells him that he has to go.

Mike and the security guys are lookign for Sam and she is right outside in the luggage as Danny walks by as she is loaded into the Van.

Lots happening fast now on the show (this is great)
- Watching the tape Mike figures out that Sam is in the trunk with thermo heat imaging. he tells the others to call Ed and Danny and tell them what is going on!
- Mary is walking towards someone with her gun out. She is heading to a bar that her husband is at. Ed is there also. He comes out and she raises her gun.
- Danny is behind her moving in
- After Ed learns that Delinda is pregnant (his wife lets it slip) he gets a call from a General telling him that Danny has volunteered to go back to Iraq in his friend's place.

while everything is going nuts - the hotel cameras go crazy again and there is gun fire and the hotel is being "hit". Everyone is out of the hotel while this is going on and Mike is at the airport trying to get to Sam before the plane takes off.

In an incredible twist Delinda goes to check on Danny's friend Jason and he is making a bomb. she calls Danny and tells him that there is a bomb. At the same time Ed is called about the hotel getting robbed by the armed men.

Mary's father is shot, BUT BY WHO?? Danny? Ed? mary?
At the same minute a massive explosion happens at the hotel and Danny, Ed and mary look back at the strip to see the explosion at the hotel. Danny says "oh my goodness. Delinda!

and we get the dreaded - TO BE CONTINUED.

what a great show. so so much action on one 60 minute show.

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS. Rumor is Mr. Kahn is no longer part of the cast. Anyone know if this is true, that would be real sad...i loved his character.

It would not be the same show without him. Who could ever replace him? That would suck IMO.

nymyth - have you seen any articles about potential cast changes for the show?
I imagine that Danny will leave soon as he is becoming a big movie star.
I would be interested to see if you have read anything. i will take a look also.

This is what I found recently. Nikki Cox and James Caan are longer with the show...Tom Sellick has joined the cast

NBC’s Las Vegas Without James Caan and Nikki Cox

NBC’s Las Vegas will continue its fifth season without two original cast members, James Caan and Nikki Cox.

James Caan wants to return to doing movies and Nikki Cox wants to take her career in a different direction.

To fill their shoes NBC is trying to bring Tom Selleck on to the show. We here a VegasHipster.com watched “Magnum P.I” all the time. We can’t wait to see Rick, T.C and Higgins (Higgy Baby) Make guest appearances that would be sweet! We are not sure how Tom Selleck will fill James Caan’s shoes, we like the old school that Caan brought to the table. It was our kind of Vegas no doubt. I hope they don’t go soft, or softer than they have been. How many times can his daughter get kidnapped?

Tom Selleck is reportedly to play the new owner of the Montecito.

Most Actors/Actresses meaning Nikki Cox who leave their respected shows usually end up not going anywhere. Don’t get me wrong there are exceptions to this rule and some of them star on this show. Nikki has dramatically changed her appearance. We do not think in a good way. She has gotten way to skinny, wafer thin, and hopefully not anorexic. We like Nikki and feel she is a very wholesome character on the show and hope they can find someone to fill her shoes.

James Caan, what can we say? We are sad to see him leave, but he will bounce back and make everything he stars in a hit. We have a very short list of favorites and he is on that list.

Tom might be good. Even Dean Cane was pretty good and if Dean Cane can be good - Magnum PI could be awesome!

^^LOL, good point. However Cane had a small role most of the time and we didnt get to see a whole lot of him (thank god)....ED's character was an integral part of the show
