Can you sum up the British Empire in 45 minutes? That's quite a challenge, but surprisingly, this program does a pretty good job of doing that. This program gives you a pretty nice summary of the history of Britain and how it developed its engineering capability. And then, this program introduces you major engineering achievements of the British Empire. It's a nice crash course on the history of the British Empire and its engineering feat ...

This was a great show - I've seen it a couple of times over.

After I watched this show, I also watched a number of other shows on the history of Britain. After I learned a bit more about the over all history of Britain, I have to say that this show 'Engineering an Empire - Britain Blood and Steel' sums up its history in 45 minutes very nicely.

I agree - for a country with such a rich and long history to be able to get that much crammed into 45 minutes is quite a feat.

Well, this series does this.

Italy / Rome is an exception though. Since there is so so so much to say about the history of this country / empire and its impact on our civilization, there are three episodes decided to Italy / Rome.

I'll have to record them on DVR and check them out... I'll look for it tonight.
