Jess, I am just catching up from being away (thank goodness for DVR's) and I just watched the show - BRILLIANT this week.
Here is my recap.
Starts with 2 men on stage (father and son). The son plays piano (an amazing savant), which started with a neurological disorder from an accident when he was a child. He has problems playing and something is obviously wrong. His head hurts terribly and he stops playing.
In the hospital the team and House want to know what is going on with the guy and how when he was a child he went from having no musical talent, gets in an accident and suddenly can play the piano better then anyone else. House is interested and wants to learn about it.
In the clinic House is helping a patient and he is his typical jerk. But he also takes his own blood for testing. House goes to the savant patient and brings in a piano and plays with him. the guy copies exactly what House played. House orders a MRI of his brain to try to find where the music talent just showed up. Listening to music nothing shows. House wants him to pretend to be playing a piano on his legs. When he starts doing that the MRI comes alive and there is activity all over the brain, but also could be some heart problems.
the team learns that House is going to Boston and thinks he is applying for a job there. They tell Cuddy who calls the hospital and finds out that he is not applying for a job, but might be getting treatment for something like brain cancer? They are taking a huge leap here and guessing and I am not sure why they don't just ASK House what is going on?? Then they all take it to far and keep wondering about jobs, what is wrong with him, etc etc etc. JUST ASK HIM.
Dr Wilson talks to House and he tells him about the brain cancer. House finds out that everyone knows and he is pretty mad. They ALL want to help him and take some blood and run their own tests, which is pretty funny.
House focuses them back on the patient and why he is having seizures.
Allison goes to House for a recommendation to apply for a new job at another hospital. He asks her why she would want to leave. She moves closer to him and touches his face and then THEY KISS! But she was really going to try to stab him and get some blood from him. It was a big scam to get his blood. He tells them that there is a ton of Xrays and blood already at the hospital under the fake name Luke N Laura, which is a nice and funny reference to the General Hospital soap. They look at the files and he has a big inoperable mass in his brain and about a year to live. He has applied for experimental surgery at Boston medical.
House goes to see the savant to draw some blood and do some test. Finds blood in his brain. He is bleeding into his brain. They get consent to drill into his head to find out what is going on.
Side Note - like EVERY other drama on TV now, the music is great acoustic songs that are played through out the show.
Foreman goes to talk to House. He says he is a jerk, but that he likes him. House cant listen to anyone who cares about him and forces him to move past his problems and tell him about the results of the tests done on the savant. his entire right side of his brain is not working and basically brain dead. The entire team is really upset about House's condition and keep trying to tell him that.
The team tried to figure out what is going on with him. House determines that the right side of his brain has always been messed up and that is not the current problem.
House shows up at Cuddy's house to ask about potentially removing 1/2 of the patient's brain. Before he leaves Cuddy tells House that he is sorry. She gives him a hug and he cops a feel of her butt, which is funny. House goes to talk to the father about performing the surgery. He says that his son is basically a performing monkey who plays the piano. House offers to try to give him a life. He would not play the piano, which was just a fluke of the childhood accident, but he would have a chance at having a real life.
The team takes a look at House's blood and finds out that he does not qualify for the closer Duke study for brain cancer. While this is going on the the father looks at his sick son and decides to do the surgery. They show a quick shot of his head cut completely open and 1/2 the brain being taken out (nice and gross).
The team wakes House up in the middle of the night and tells him that they found something that will save him. He asks if they sent the results to Mass General. they said yes and he is mad, since he really was not dying and it was all a scam he set up. His friend Dr Wilson comes into his office and yells at him about his depression and the fact that he faked cancer. so people would care BUT HE PUSHES THEM AWAY. He is a very confused, strange man. Dr. Wilson begs him to please open up a little and try to let other people in, even if it is little steps at a time. WOW House is one messed up guy.
Back to the patient. The surgery is over and he is in recovery. He cant talk yet, but he buttons his shirt and he looks happy. It is a big big step and really a nice moment for the father and House.
The show ends with House walking in town. He looks into a restaurant/bar and sees people together and looks like he might go in.
Show ends. good episode.
The previews talk about 9 new episodes in a row staring at the end of March!

| I can't believe they brought it back for a week only to go on hiatus again until the 27th, how frustrating. Tht was his team in the restaraunt and I'm pretty sure he was going to go in but I wonder what that menas. Are we going to start seeing his humane side? I'm not sure how I feel about that LOL. I think there is going to be some major changes between Cameron and Chase now that they r "friends with benefits".

| I think eventually they have to "humanize" House a little. It just would not be realistic if they did not. But I could see them have him open up a little only to get hurt emotionally again and retreat into his world again. But opening him up a little really opens up a bunch of show threads that would be really interesting to watch. He is such a brilliant actor.

I did. I just can not understand how House is not dead from all of the pills he is taking. Also, I know first hand how horrible and painful a catheter is and the fact he did it to himself at home without screaming and yelling is just crazy.
It was an interesting show and the case of the military guy was interesting, but I liked more how confident and cool he looked at the end when he purposely caught the other 2 doctors hooking up and it did not bother him at all. Also, I loved when he yelled at that female patient for swishing around the water in her water bottle, lol. Was funny.

this weeks show starts with a famous pregnant female photographer (Emma) doing a photo shoot with a rocker dude. It is a funny and good opening scene, but them she starts having visible physical problems (words messed on on backdrop, no control of her face, etc) and then she self diagnoses herself as having a stroke. Down she goes and we next see her in the hospital and under our favorite wacky medical team led by Dr House.
House talks to her and Cutty is very involved. House notices her pee bag filled with blood.
They start doing tests to try to figure out what is wrong with her. When the patient is feeling better she is snapping pictures all of the time of the doctors. One of the funnier moments of this week's show was the doctors looking at House's picture on the X Ray viewer. it was funny.
The entire hospital seems to know about Chase and Cameron hooking up in the broom closet and in general. Everyone has an opinion. Cuddy tells Cameron to get out because she will get hurt, etc. This tells Cameron that House told Cuddy. She confronts him with it, but House in typical fasion could care less, or at least that is how he seems to her.
While all of this is going on they keep finding different problems with Emma's body (heart, kidneys, etc). they start doing procedures and Cuddy keeps herself involved and actually telling the doctors how to do procedures they have done many times before. They keep doing tests and things come back negative. Everyone is confused.
House is planning a vacation.
House tells Emma that her body is working fine, but the baby's is not and is failing, which also will cause her body to fail. House wants to do tests on the baby, but the baby wont stop moving so they cant get good images, etc. So House suggests paralyzing the baby.
Cuddy says no way, but House convinces her to do it. They go in and the baby's heart is fine, but the bladder is real bad and way to large.
House and Cuddy butt heads about the case and House says that Cuddy is only involved because the patient reminds her of herself, which is true.
back to Emma who has abdominal pains, and her eyes are yellow and she is jaundiced. She is now dying because of the baby's problems. The baby is to young to be taken out and survive on ventilators so House suggests an abortion to save the mom. Emma says No Way and tells House to figure it out (within the 2 days they have left). House tells Cuddy to force the abortion. she says no way also. Cuddy gets the team together and they come up with a few other medical options and off everyone goes to run more tests. Cuddy wants to do a ton of very risky medical procedures, and the other doctors are worried about her ongoing direction. They tell Wilson to try to talk to her and he comes in when she is working on Emma and tries to talk sense into her. they slow her down and a few hours later she agrees that she was wrong

They go get House who comes back from packing for his vacation to help.
Into surgery they go and while cutting here open and tiny hand reaches out and grabs his finger. it is a strong moment (a little unbelievable, but strong moment) and House seems visibly moved by it. Emma crashes, but the team saves her and the baby.
Later Emma is awake and House tells her that he would have killed the baby if he had his way. They end the show with Emma hanging up the pictures she took in the hospital in her home and the baby there also.
The Cameron - Chase relationship is going to get steamy and someone is going to get hurt and someone is going to leave the show. that is my prediction.

| Cuddy got out of control this week, I was a little taken back by how neurotic she was but I understood why she was doing it. I'm thinking Chase & Cameron can go one or two ways: since they are already getting married in real life, it could be worked into the show, notice when they were both looking at pictures of each other they both had that look on their face & then of course it could end up the way you say and one of them gets hurt. My biggest thing is what going on between House & Cuddy although they both deny any interest in each other, I really want to see them end up together even if it's years down te line.

| I think this was the best show this week. The segment with the dog was just too funny.I can'tbelieve they had him getting the dog High. also, I think he has gotten even meaner and crasser which for some reason is really funny.

| I did think they were gonna soften him up and then the dog.. that the dog might make him be more real but he's getting almost robotic, what will it take to humanize House? or is that what keeps us coming back because the impossible worst disease most undiagnosable problem over and over and over is getting old well at least to me.

| well for us (my wife and I) we thought they might let him have a real relationship, and there have been a few "almosts", but it just has not happened yet. He would be forced to be "human" if he was going to have a relationship with anyone.

| I think we will see him more vulnerable next season, he has humanized a bit over the seasons and he was trying to be human with Foreman. Any thoughts on Foreman's announcement this week?

| The 2 week notice thing. I am not sure if I have read that Omar Epps is leaving the show or not, but I would not be surprised. he was always a movie star and I was initially amazed that he has stayed on the show as long as he has. do you think he is leaving the show? Or is this another way to spin off a new show ala Grey's Anatomy?

Hey your lot we are a bit behind you on the plot, so dont give too many storylines out, PLEASE.
House is still under suspicion by the police for his drug problem, we just had the coma man woken up episode to save his son.
Never realised that Hugh was supposed to be an American, I thought eveyone new him as a Brit  , never mind.
