Description from the Fox site:
http://www.fox.com/house/showinfo/
From executive producers Katie Jacobs, David Shore, Paul Attanasio and Bryan Singer, HOUSE, an innovative take on the medical drama, solves mysteries where the villain is a medical malady and the hero is an irreverent, controversial doctor who trusts no one, least of all his patients.
HOUSE has received an Emmy Award for creator and executive producer David Shore (Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series) and a Golden Globe Award for Hugh Laurie (Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series) and, most recently, an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. In its second season, the show was honored by the American Film Institute as one of the TV Programs of the Year and received the Peabody Award for Best of Electronic Media in 2005 and the 2006 Humanitas Prize, honoring Shore.
DR. GREGORY HOUSE (Hugh Laurie) is devoid of anything resembling bedside manner and wouldn’t even talk to his patients if he could get away with it. Dealing with his own constant physical pain, he uses a cane that seems to punctuate his acerbic, brutally honest demeanor. While his behavior can border on antisocial, House is a brilliant diagnostician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts afford him widespread respect.
An infectious disease specialist, House thrives on the challenge of solving medical puzzles in order to save lives. He has assembled an elite team of young experts to help him unravel these diagnostic mysteries: neurologist DR. ERIC FOREMAN (Omar Epps); immunologist DR. ALLISON CAMERON (Jennifer Morrison); and intensevist DR. ROBERT CHASE (Jesse Spencer). House has a good friend and confidant in oncology specialist DR. JAMES WILSON (Robert Sean Leonard), with whom he consults with on a regular basis.
DR. LISA CUDDY (Lisa Edelstein), the Dean of Medicine and hospital administrator, is in constant conflict with House over his duties and unconventional behavior, but even she would admit that his brilliance is worth the trouble.
In the season two finale, House suffered multiple gunshot wounds inflicted by a former patient’s husband determined to carry out retribution for House’s treatment of his wife’s case. In a shocking surprise to his co-workers, House comes through the ordeal with a slightly new perspective on his treatment of patients -- but will it affect how he makes medical decisions? And will it last?
Also, has an experimental treatment administered during House’s surgery taken away the leg pain he has suffered for years? And, if so, will that change him, since his constant physical pain has played such a large part in shaping who he is as a person and a doctor?
HOUSE is from Heel and Toe Films, Shore Z Productions and Bad Hat Harry Productions in association with NBC Universal Television Studio. Katie Jacobs, David Shore, Paul Attanasio, Bryan Singer and Dan Sackheim are executive producers.

| House is right on the top of my must see list every week. I think Hugh Laurie does a fantastic job playing an addicted sob who is always right.

| And when you see him on Letterman or Leno it is SO funny to hear his completely 100% British accent. I think one of his best acting jobs is not sounding British at all on the show, lol

i saw it - very good. i love the fact that they run so many tests, on every single case, while they are guessing and trying to figure out what each case is - that each case must cost about 2 million dollars, lol.
28 year old male with menopause was a funny diagnosis.
I also enjoy the actor playing Tritter the cop - he is great in every movie he has ever been in and is equally good in this role on the show.

| I did find it strange that while House was in rehab, and throwing up, that he would have the doctors in his room asking him for medical advise and reading him charts and talking about patients. I wonder if that would ever happen in real life?

The rehab center was in the hospital and Cuddy runs the hospital so she probably cleared it. I doubt it would happen in real life even if he was a doctor. I'm glad Tritters gone, I think David Morse in a phenomenal actor but I don't like seeing House tortured.

| I think they will bring Tritters back in the future. He is a good foil to House's character.

This is great show, but it is on the same time as another of my favourites.
Every time I remember to tape it all the blanks tapes have suddenly disappeared.

I was. Is there any question that we are watching one of the top 2 or 3 shows on all of TV. This show is 100% original, even being set in a hospital. Has a lead character who is far and away the most unique and again original in years - and to top it all off - the acting from almost the entire cast, including weekly guest actors, is incredible.
Last night's show solidified why House has been winning all of the awards.
Since Cuddy saved House's ass, she demands that he works in the clinic full time. Almost everyone he talks to in the beginning has an STD, which is comical and House starts offering people $50 to leave. House also tries to turn the case of a man running around and screaming and holding his head into a huge case with his entire team. They offer up a ton of wild medical options, but House new all along that it was a bug in his ear that bit him.
House then goes to hide in the park while Cameron does his rounds in the clinic. Cuddy catches her doing this and then finds House in the park and makes him come back. that is when he meats one of the patients is a young blond woman, Eve, who's tests come back that she does have an STD. When House gets close to her she completely freaks out and House learns that she was raped. House goes to Cuddy to get taken off the case because he is not the right person for the case. BUT to everyone's surprise the woman demands that House himself work with her. She just wants to talk to him and feels comfortable for some reason talking only to him.
At the same time Cameron works with a homeless man who has an inoperable cancerous mass and is dying. she tries to help him, but he does not want to be helped. He says he does not deserve it. Cameron eventually gives into his requests and unhooks the meds.
Back to House and Eve. Every scene with only these 2 in it was brilliant and I bet this episode will be up for awards. The 2 talk about a lot of things and she asks House about what terrible has happened in his life. He does not know how to answer and it is very interesting to see him struggling with how to help this woman. He is so uncomfortable being compassionate that you can actually feel his angst. He finally tells here about his grandmother abusing him. She asks him if the story is true?
Next we find out that raped Eve is pregnant - it just gets worse. But Eve does not want to abort the baby saying it would be murder. The 2 of them walk outside to get some air and end up in the same park House was in earlier, sitting at a park bench with runners going by. They talk about remorse and feelings, the pregnancy, and the meaning of everything. It is very well written dialog. It ends up with House admitting that the story he told was really his parents abusing him. They finally connect and they show Eve talking to House about what happened to her as the camera pulls away.
Back at the hospital House tells Cuddy that Eve Terminated the pregnancy and was discharged.
Awesome show this week. What did everyone else think?

| I think it was great, she demanded House be the one to attend to her because she thought she saw pain in him. You had to feel for House when he admitted that it was his Dad that made him take baths in ice (uggg).

House in a wheelchair all show was classic. I thought for sure he was going down when he went down those steps. could not believe he stayed true to staying in the wheelchair for as long as he did, especially during the surgery. He could have easily just got up and run down the stairs.
good show tonight.

| I know, I couldn't believe he managed it down the steps in the chair and then stood up in the operating room. Notice the power he has over Cuddy, it was so easy for him to guilt her into giving him his space back.

| I used to watch this all the time but I've missed so many of these episodes now that I haven't a clue what's going on anymore. I'm going to have to rent the DVDs when they come out.
