| did i miss something, how the hell did Michael know the pipe was blocked up and needed to have a bomb break it up?

Here is my recap and questions.
The water situation is nuts. Drinking boiled water.
Everyone seems to be looking for the hidden man Whistler, who is in the basement sewers. The main guys hold on the others seems very tenuous. Everyone is on edge and Belleck looks worse then ever BUT he does know where the hidden trapped man is and he takes Michael to where he is. He tells Whistler through the tiny brick hole that he is coming to get him out. But he says that he will be killed if he is seen up in the prison.
Michael's brother meets with the agency woman again and she lays down the law about how they will be communicating and what she expects. LJ and Sara will be killed if Whistler is not escaped from the prison. He has one week to get him out or they die.
Sucre is back (I agree this is a good thing) and he gets a gun.
The inmates are getting very restless and Belleck is getting desperate. He looks terrible, but Michael says he will try to help him when he can.
We then learn that if Whistler is killed by an inmate, they will be let free. Mahone learns this and is looking for a way to use this info to his advantage. Belleck comes out to talk to Sucre and he wants to know where his wife Mary Cruz is. Sucre threatens to kill him with his gun. Belleck says that he did not have her and that he ran them off. He conned him and his wife is actually safe somewhere. Sucre puts his gun away and leaves.
Mahone heads down to the sewer to talk to the hidden and trapped Whistler guy. Whistler tells him to leave him alone. But Mahone tries to break down the bricks with a metal rod to get to him.
Michael comes out and talks to his brother. No one has ever broke out before in a week. But he says he is going to do everything to try to get out with Whistler or die trying. Then Link sees Sucre. He asks him to help him, but he leaves for Chicago to go see his girl.
The inmates are about to riot and the main guy gives T-Bag a milk jug of water to distribute. Belleck is taken to the main guy with some info he seems to have. He tells Patrone about Whistler in the sewers. He gets clothing and some food.
Michael learns that mahone has been asking questions also. Everyone is heading down the sewers.
Mahone meets up with Michael and his guys, while holding Whistler. Whistler escapes his grasp and runs off into the sewers.
Michael goes to talk to Patrone and asks him to take the bounty off Whistler. He says he will not do that. T-Bag tells Patrone that Michael is a snake and no good. The crowd is getting louder and more angry about not having any water.
Michael goes and looks for booze or alcohol.
Link finds the woman who has been standing outside the prison looking for Whistler also. She is at a bank looking in a safety deposit box and she takes whatever is in there (we dont see it). Link follows her and talks to her. Link takes the book that she took out of the safety deposit box. I think Link has it wrong. This woman IS NOT part of the people who are forcing him to make Michael break out Whistler. She is not involved.
Back in the prison Whistler is running away through the sewers and Mahone is chasing, as are others. Mahone catches him but he keeps running away. Finally Mahone catches him and tries to drag him back upstairs.
Michael needs a bunch of supplies and a kid is helping him. He is making something and he takes it out into the yard and then starts following pipes.
The Patrone calls the guards and asks for more water. he says he needs water now. The guard tells him that it will be the day after tomorrow at the earliest and that is to bad.
Michael goes to some random pipe in the prison and drops down the contents of the thing he was making. It has a wick of cloth and then lights it and it explodes. the explosion rocks the prison and suddenly...WATER STARTS SPURTING OUT of the pipes. I have NO IDEA how he knew to do that. It makes NO SENSE AT ALL how he knew it.
Mahone brings Whistler up into the yard. The Patrone comes to him, but because of what Michael did making the water work he gives Whistler to him and says that he is safe with him and will not be harmed.
Sucre calls Mary Cruz and says that he has to say goodbye for now to keep her safe. he says that someday he will find her, someday. They both cry.
Susan comes to talk to Link and tells him to stop hassling Whistlers girlfriend. She points a gun at him and demands that he gives her what he took from the girlfriend. He gives her the bird book from his pocket BUT it is a copy of it. he had purchased another one.
the Patron guy meets with the guy who was causing the uprising before the water came back and drowns him. the rest of the inmates drink water and everyone seems happy for a second.
Whistler and Michael talk about how they are going to get out of the prison. Michael says he has no idea right now how he will do it.

Just caught up on this week's show after being away. Another good one in my mind
Codes in bird book are no surprise and Link gets pictures of his kid as proof they have him and a surprise with Cruz being back.
Michael still has some problems in jail with the "boss" even after turning the water on. Link shows Michael a picture showing proof of Sarah kidnapped. Link is going to have to break them out if Michael can not get Whistler out in time.
Whistler seems to be hiding some stuff, even from his girl. He says for her to trust him.
There is a ton of drugs going on in the prison, and Mahone is getting "the itch" for a fix again.
Michael talks to T-Bag and tries to make a deal to get his cell phone for him. He says he will tell everyone what he has done as a rapist and child molester if he does not help him.
Whistler talks to Michael and tells him that he knows that Link talked to his girlfriend and took his book. Whistler demands it back. Michael tells him that his girlfriend was kidnapped and that is the only reason he is helping him at all.
Mahone finds out that he got a trial date but it is in a year.
Michael gets a phone and calls Link and says to get Sarah on the phone. he only has 25 minutes. Whistlers girlfriend is following Link.
Belleck tries to get his shoe back.
Sarah speaks to Michael and he asks in code where they are. She uses a code "it is a Lost Cause". Then she is cut off. Padrone starts walking back to his room and the phone has to be returned. It is literally last minute and he is going to get caught. T-bag tries to stall him. Very tense moment and Michael is almost caught in his room. T-Bag distracts him by saying he was cut when his bartender shaved him. It works and Michael slips out.
Whistler goes to talk to Mahone about working together. they talk alittle, but mainly he is trying to find out about Michael.
Link finds Sarah and where she is being held. He goes crazy and tries to fight everyone, but they rush off in a van and get away. He goes to see Michael and tells him what happened. He tells him that they can break out somehow. Michael is back to being motivated to make the escape happen.
Michael and Whister talk. Finally he talks and tells Michael what is going on. He took someone to some location where they did water samples. Now many people are looking for the same location and Whistler is the only one who knows where it is. That is why they want him, to take them to the same location.
T-Bag takes a beating from Padrone's people. He goes to Padrone and spins the story that his top guy is turning on him to turn the big boss against him. Pretty smart move to be honest. AND now he is "his ears". Worked out perfectly for him to move closer to the Padrone.
Michael and Mahone talk and discuss The Company and Mahone has figured out that Michael is just there because of his skill of breaking out of prison. He knows why he is there - to get Whistler out.
Link comes back and finds Cruz drunk at his door. Link talks to the girl from The Company. She tells him that she left something for him in the garage by the trash. It is a bloody box and in the box is ..... THEY DON'T SHOW IT. The show ends!!!!!!!!

| It was a very "Se7en" like scene from where Brad Pitt was screaming "What's in the box" to Morgan Freeman and the killer Kevin Spacey. But it will not be a head, like that movie. My guess is that it is a finger or something like that. Just enough to scare Link.

| im thinking its a horsehead or something that would scare the shit out of Link and Michael, if they cut the head off of the boy or the girl, then there would be no reason for michael to break out.....these people need michael more then he needs them, so killing or wonding who he loves doesnt make sense

It was Sarah's head.. That's one way to kill off a character.
Lincoln choosing not to reveal this to Michael in a way is smart as there's still LJ to think about but man, I would HATE to be anyone near Michael when he does find out.

Well Sarah is dead. Too bad I did like her. I thought for sure when the series was going to end they would of ended up together.
I wonder where they will run too once they get Link's son back and Michael out of jail?
Anyone remember what happened to the money off hand? My mind is drawing blanks.
