Aren't any of you watching Jericho or have I just missed the thread for this show?

We are just coming up to episode 11 here in the UK but I notice that after this Friday it disappears off the schedules.  I believe it is taking a break but I think that the US is much further ahead than we are and I just wondered if anyone knew how long the break is and when it will be back?

I really love the show and I do hate it when they take breaks in the middle of a season like this because you start to forget what happened.  I know they update you when it comes back but it's still a shame to lose it for a few weeks.

Well the season Finale is on tonight. I wonder if it will be back in the fall?

I used to watch it but like with lost the long break between new episodes I lost interest.

I am surprised they killed pops off. I thought he was a main character. Maybe Gerald McRaney has other commitments?

It was a bit of a cliff hanger on how the season ended, so I look forward to next season. The wedding Flash Backs were ok but they should of gone a little further back in time to explain why they do not get along though. The reason for it. It does appear Jake is a mama's boy and her favourite but I would liked to of seen why Jake did not get along with his brother or father, was there one moment or just they were never close growing up?

This show does have potential and I hope it does not run into the "we ran out of things to write" like Lost and even prison break to some extent.

CBS cancels `Jericho'

CBS cancelled the nuclear apocalypse drama, Jericho, on Wednesday, another sign that television networks are shying away from serial dramas after overloading on them last season.

The network unveiled a fall schedule with five new shows, three of them dramas.

Jericho started out strong last fall for CBS. However, like Lost on ABC and Heroes on NBC, many viewers abandoned the show after it went on a long midseason hiatus.

Those long season Hiatus are terrible. I wonder why they do it?

I loved this show and was really looking forward to next season. This sucks.....

I can't believe they canceled it. That's quite a disappointment.

I heard that they were considering bringing it back because of such a demand for it.

Also, anyone heard of the campaign to save it by sending Nuts?

I hope they do. A lot of unanswered questions. This show had/has a lot of potential.

Watching Jericho it seems somewhat realistic as I could see people basically reverting to some of our 'animal instinct' in order to survive.

No real government, the split up of the country, people stealing to survive and with guns if needed. Neighbouring towns at 'war' with each other.

I don't think it is too far from what may happen if that were to really happen. It would be literally everyone for themselves for a while anyways.

It was doing alright until the mid season break.

Yeah, that's what I loved about it. It seemed much more realistic.

The show was kind of slow, but that's because in real life it'd be slow - if that makes sense.

CBS reconsidering after fans say 'Nuts' to Jericho cancellation

CBS is reported to be reconsidering the cancellation of its drama Jericho because of a deluge of messages from fans.

The network has had thousands of calls, messages and shipments of peanuts from fans since cancelling the drama about a Kansas town isolated after a nuclear attack.

"We are tired of the networks (not just CBS) tossing aside quality programming," the website jericholives.com said. "Enough! We're going to fight for this one."

More than 20,000 kilograms of peanuts have been sent to the CBS New York offices, a reference to a character in the series saying "Nuts!" to a demand that the beleaguered town of Jericho surrender.

Sounds hopeful. Click link above to read rest of this article. :)

I do agree many new tv shows really do not get a chance to get viewers for various reasons like long mid season gaps, switching days and times and general impatience after the show airs a few times if it has not  got the mass viewership they want.

I know they want to make money but........

Well it is being picked up but just for 7 episodes as a mid season replacement. Hopefully ratings are good for it to have more episodes.

CBS picks up 7 episodes of 'Jericho'

my husband was really excited about the show returning (me, not so much :) )but the article I read really brings up and makes clear the point that just because people aren't watching it exactly when it airs, doesn't mean they aren't watching. Networks need to realize that people download episodes off ITunes, watch it on their DVRs later in the week, etc...

I know that CBS has 7 episodes slated for a mid season replacement, however I'm not sure what will happen now due to the writers strike.
