Bob Barker retired but the show will continue :-1

CBS plans to continue the show with a new host but has yet to name a successor to Barker, so just waiting to find out who the new emcee
will be.

I think June 15th is the last episode with Barker.

Nevertheless the Price is Right won't be the same....

he said he wold stay on for a few months more if they can not find a replacement in time. He is a true warrior and one of the best, if not the best, game show hosts of all time.

Its not going to be the same without him, but I did hear on somewhere that Bob Barker suggested Rosie should host it. If this happens, then the price is right will become the price is wrong.

Rosie O'Donnell Meets with Price Is Right Producers FRIDAY JUNE 22, 2007
By Emily Fromm

As promised, Rosie O'Donnell met with The Price Is Right producers on Thursday – although the speculation that she'll replace Bob Barker as the show's host has been losing steam.

Asked on her blog how her interview went, O'Donnell replies, "we had a nice lunch" – but does not elaborate.

Another reader writes, "I see that Drew Carey's name has been thrown into the mix. Any comments?" Writes O'Donnell: "i love drew carey."

Barker started the buzz about O'Donnell replacing him when he said at last week's Daytime Emmys that he had "no doubt" O'Donnell would be a good host for the game show. But he backed off on Wednesday, telling the Associated Press: "I think there are several candidates who could do the show, and Rosie is certainly one of them."

O'Donnell herself sounded pessimistic about her chances in a recent video post on her blog: "I don't know if it's gonna work out," she told fans. "I just think it's a part of American nostalgia, and it's what America needs right now. It would be good for me, but I don't know if it's right for them."

And on Wednesday, Variety reported that CBS and producer FremantleMedia North America had been talking to comic Drew Carey about hosting the show. Carey is already set to host CBS's upcoming primetime quiz show Power of 10.

As said, the show will continue. I don't like Rosie much. I hope they can find a better candidate.

I don't like her much either. Drew Carey may not be the best candidate either. They need someone like Barker. He was, and always will be, the best!!

Bob Barker has been dead for 15 years, he's on strings when he comes to the stage... ok obvious joke so don't take it seriously.

I hope Rosie doesnt get the show... She would destroy it and then come back with saying how it wasnt geared towards lesbian and gay people and blah blah blah blah. Its really sad, because when she had her talk show I LOVED Rosie. I liked her standup, I watched her in the few movies she was in, and liked her there too. Ever since she "came out" (like THERE was a suprise) she acts like she is the Elton John of lesbians. Its gross.

Well something tells me that Bob Barker will be back....because I am guessing that they won't find a replacement for a while, maybe they never will, and Bob Barker will be there until he dies...who knows...or maybe he'll come back, and they won't find anybody and so the show will end.

In any event, couldn't they always just show reruns?

they already do run reruns on the game show channel I believe, but i agree with you. he should literally die on the show, during the Showcase Showdown.
