Few co workers I was rooming with were in love with the show and I couldn't get into it that much. Plus the time that it's on and the day of the week doesn't work for me for a number of reasons. If I got hooked, I would probably make time but until then, I"ll just keep watching the commercials.

It is a truly great show. Both funny and dramatic and you can't wait for the next week's show.

Are you omn the third season with this?

i kept watching bits of it but never got it fully. I watched the season two finale on LivingTV. it was very sad when he died. Especially with 'Chasing Cars' playing in the background.

Yea, the last show of last season was pretty sad. And when Alex picked her up and carried her out it was very emotional. This season has been great so far. Good to have another fan to talk about the show with!

A disaster on a ferry boat is a nice twist. I loved the overwhelmed looks on all of their faces. Nice twist!

Dr. Callie O'Malley - hahaha

February 8 - Walk On Water

From the opening scene, in which we find a melancholy Meredith drowning in uncertainty (and nearly in the bathtub), you know something's up

What is typical, of course, is the way in which Cristina handles her new engagement and telling her friends. She doesn't. Even with Mer staring at her in the locker room and asking her what the hell is going on. Preston tells Derek that they're engaged, which ticks Yang off because she wanted to tell Meredith first. Which, of course, she didn't do.

That all seems trivial soon enough, however. When word of a severe accident in Seattle involving multiple traumas starts filtering through the halls of SGH, the Chief immediately starts preparing for the worst. He dispatches a team of doctors to the scene and prepares the rest of the staff for the onslaught of patients to come.

For the Chief, it's welcome relief in a bizarre sort of way. Clearly in a daze over his marriage officially ending, he's dyed his hair jet black in an attempt to move on. But mentally, he's reeling. Addison does her best to comfort Richard, but the Chief - like so many times before - seems most comfortable when he's focusing on running Seattle Grace.

Derek, Miranda, Meredith, Izzie, George and Alex join emergency personnel in arriving at the site of the disaster - and Izzie can't believe her eyes when she sees what happened: a ferry boat has collided with a container ship in Puget Sound. Mass casualties (and mass hysteria) are a given.

A woman with shards of glass in her chest is in dire need of assistance, but has lost her son and refuses treatment until she knows of her son's safety. George promises her he will find him in the chaos. But he's not able to do so by the episode's end, and the patient is still insisting on holding off on surgery by the time she makes it to SGH.

Meanwhile, a lost little girl becomes attached to Meredith as she attempts to save whatever lives she can amidst the unthinkable carnage. While Mer and other emergency medical workers try to look after her, they invariably become distracted with more dire situations, and the mysterious child is left to wander.

Then there's Izzie. As she tends to a man trapped under cars on the ferry, she can only do so much without further aid. But the trapped man, Rick, has some seriously persistent friends. Forcing her to do whatever she can, in spite of Izzie's own insistence that she can only do so much, they help her set his broken and keep his heart beating against the odds. But he's still trapped, and looks to be losing his fight.

Elsewhere on the wreckage scene, Alex saves a pregnant burn victim who is nearly dead from being crushed under a concrete pylon. After rescuing her from under the rubble when she was minutes away from death and accompanying her all the way to the hospital, Alex is livid when Cristina is asked to scrub in on her surgery instead of him.

But it's not just about surgery. Feeling genuinely attached to the injured woman he helped save as he gazes into her pained eyes throughout the day, Karev goes to her room and tells her to please, fight as hard as she can and make it through. Addison sees his concern for the patient and looks on with admiration.

Unable to find assistance tending to an injured man at the end of the pier, Meredith turns to the little girl who's been tagging along after her. His terrible leg wound requires her to simultaneously apply pressure and stitch it up, a feat she can't accomplish on her own. With the girl following her instructions, Meredith is able to sew the gash closed.

But when the man suddenly regains consciousness and seizes uncontrollably, Meredith is knocked off the edge of the pier into the water!

We are left wondering.... (*sigh*)

You can watch this episode Friday, February 9 @ 8pm on ABC

I thought it was especially funny when everyone in the hospital knew about the engagement before Christina could tell Mer, but I knew that would happen. NOTHING comes out of Christina very easily.

It was a nice twist to have the scene in the tub early and then what happened at the end. Very well done, but I am worried. In reality, if she was hurt from that fall there is no way any one would get to her in time, so I hope they make the way she is saved realistic!

A little special effects this week also with the shots of the big ferry boat burning and the accident. Interesting to see the cast outside of the hospital walls. Everything with the lost little girl was very sad, as was the injured mom looking for her son and George trying to find him.

The man IZZY is working on by the cars on the ferry looks real bad and I fear she is going to lose another patient and take it badly again. she seems to always have bad luck lately.

ALEX is far and away becoming my favorite character. his saving of a crushed pregnant woman was awesome and just the emotion in her eyes in the disfigured face really was powerful. they are really explanding his role on the show and rightly so! I think he is the most interesting of all of the cast members.

This week's show was particularly gory, but I liked that because it made the disaster more realistic. I am looking forward to seeing how McDreamy saves Mer from drowning next week!!!!

February 15, 2007  "Drowning On Dry Land"

The episode ends with Meredith exclaiming that word under the most mind-blowing of circumstances. Let's take a look at how she got there.

We begin the hour with the lovely Meredith sinking into the abyss. She has so much more to say, Meredith tells us in her opening narration, but she's disappearing. On land, no one can locate her, although people are starting to worry.

The patient whose leg Meredith treated is brought over to the triage area, where Derek spots Meredith’s jacket and ID tag on him. He gets worried and goes to find her, asking the little girl to show him where Meredith is. It takes her a minute amidst the chaos, but she slowly (and ominously) points towards the water.

Meanwhile, Izzie is still with the guy who was trapped under a car. When she begins to panic, one of the unconscious guy's friends calms her down and she calls the Chief for help. Richard tells her she has to drill holes in the guy's skull. Using Vince's drill, and with Mark and Richard talking her through it via cell phone, Izzie handles it like a pro and the pressure in the man's brain is eased. (Goooooooooooo Izzie!!!)

The rescue people finally arrive and the man makes it to Seattle Grace. Alive. Richard tells her she saved the man's life and is officially off probation - now get ready to scrub in on the man’s surgery and use the actual surgical drill this time.  (Wooohooo Gooooooooo Izzie!!!)

In order to get the injured mother to calm down before surgery, George lies and tells her he found her son. Bailey tells him be had better go actually find the kid before the mother wakes up. George searches the hospital, top to bottom, including the morgue. But he can’t find the kid.

Finally he sees that there’s a 7-year-old John Doe in the O.R. and that Callie is operating on him. He asks Mrs. O'Malley to please look at the picture he's carrying to see if the kid she’s operating on is Chris. At first, Callie doesn’t want him bothering her, but she eventually looks at the picture and confirms that it’s her patient. George then makes a somewhat cute-embarrasing-for-Callie-comment and she tells him to get out. (LOL)

Alex is still trying to figure out who the pregnant woman he saved is, while fielding 500 questions from patients' family members at the same time. At first he can’t handle the situation and only has a 2-hour-old list to show them. Finally, with Sydney's help, he comes up with a system to give the people updates.

After Addison ponders her own place in the world - would anyone notice if she went missing? - Alex and Sydney take Polaroid photos of the patients and post them on the wall for the friends and family to come and identify. He heads down to the morgue and takes photos of the deceased victims as well. Fearing for the worst, he finds the body of a pregnant woman and takes a picture.

When he returns to the clinic, he talks to a man who said he was looking for a pregnant woman. Alex is hopeful that the woman the man is there for is the Jane Doe in the O.R., not the one in the morgue. He describes the woman in the O.R., but the man says it doesn’t sound like her. Nor does it look like her in the picture. Alex then confirms that she is dead, and the man is inconsolable.

Emotionally and physically drained, Alex just stands there, looking around the clinic at all of the people crying, hugging one another or in hysterics on the phone breaking the news to others. Afterwards, he goes up to Addison and tells her that he’d notice if she disappeared. (awwwwwwwwww)

Christina has been stitching people up all day in the pit, but she's really focused on "her person." Meredith. She's concerned Mer is missing, but Yang also needs to tell her about the engagement before it becomes real. That's how her mind works. She has another argument with Burke on the subject, in which she explains her relationship with Meredith.

As only Dr. Yang could put it and make sense, she says that if she killed someone, Meredith would be the one she’d call to help drag the body across the floor. Preston isn’t happy that she’s comparing their engagement to a corpse, and leaves. What Christina is trying to say is that nothing is real until she tells her best friend.

Which brings us back to the missing Dr. Grey. When we next see the little girl, she’s standing alone by the water. As a Coast Guard member finds her, he begins to carry her away when Derek climbs up onto the dock, carrying a blue, seemingly lifeless Meredith in his arms. He performs CPR on her in the ambulance, but she’s not responding.  (The Powers that be really know how to time the commercials.  It was at about this time that I began to go into cardiac.  Meredith looked BLUE.  I mean BLUE BLUE DEAD BLUE)

As the doctors frantically try to revive the blue Dr. Grey, Richard orders Derek out of the room. The devastated Dr. Shepherd slumps down on the floor of the hallway, inconsolable. Mark comforts his former best friend, while Preston asks what he can do to help. Derek responds that what he needs is for Preston to get in there and fight for Mer's life.

The interns are gathered around and Izzie is trying to console Christina, telling her that Mer will pull thru.  George, still in the wake of his fathers death, says sometimes people die.  Izzie tells him that as his best friend she knows she can tell him that he made a mistake in marrying Callie. (I cannot even begin to explain the look on Georges face, or mine for that matter, when she said that.) Izzie hugs Christina.

As Addison, Burke, Webber and Bailey work on Meredith, Addison makes some suggestions about how to get warmth back into her frozen body. But as hard as they push, and despite the repeated CPR, shots and other measures, the doctors can only raise Meredith's body temperature from 80 to 82 degrees. Panic ensues. Meredith goes into cardiac arrest and we hear the familiar drone of the flat-lining EKG.

"We're losing her," the Chief says.

We then go inside Meredith's head, where she's moving towards the light - literally. On the other side, she awakes - still in a hospital room, in blue scrubs - but totally lucid. Except that flanking her are a pair of former acquaintances who are no longer among the living. To her left, we see Dylan Young of the bomb squad. To the right, none other than Izzie's late fiance, Denny Duquette.

"Am I dead?" Meredith asks.

"Damn right you are," replies Denny.

The episode ends, leaving myself as well as all the other Greys fans in utter shock and bewilderment.  As they played the credits and scenes for NEXT week, I shouted at the television that it was completely insane for the show to not be coming back on for another 7 days.  (insert obsenities)

To see this episode, watch Friday @ 8pm on ABC.

I was not sure why she was sinking? Did she hit her head? Couldn't she tread water. was the water to cold and that made her pass out? maybe I missed that?

Derek walking out of the water with her was a great moment, before we realized how hurt and almost dead she was. The little girl not talking and just pointing made everything even more dramatic and jumping ahead in the show it was great how they quickly showed the girl's mom finding her.

IZZY stepping up and getting her confidence back (FINALLY) was nice and she did a good job. Funny how this week Mark (McSteamy) is a good guy the entire show. He helps with Izzy's over the phone surgery and then is there to support upset Derek with Meredith dying. Izzy is officially off suspension, which is good and she is back to doing surgery.

Again Alex steal just about every scene he is in. He yells at the frantic family members of the injured and then steps up and takes pictures of the injured and the dead and posts the info on the boards for all to see. Very hard scene when many people are crying, but again a good move by Alex. Alex saying he would "notice" if Addison was missing. I wish they would just officially date at this point.

We did not like Christina this week. She was just to single minded and in the event of this major situation and everything else,  you would think that even she would change her tune. Maybe it is more in character that she did not? Who knows?

All of the stars gather to see what happens to Meredith. They are all upset and Izzy says some weird stuff about George and Callie. Angel - We did not understand all of this either??

The last scene with the dead guys from old shows (Denny and the bomb squad guy) was crazy and I bet next week they have a lot of all of them talking to each other before she someone comes back (she better or the show ends in our opinion).

very emotional show and perfect for sweeps weeks!!!!
