Anyone else watch this Sunday night? I'm curious of what others thought about this show.

I had planned to watch this, but ran late and was still watching a movie when it aired. Is this a series or was it a special?

I found it a lot like the Apprentice, just packaged differently, but ultimately a reality show with a big prize at the end. Each week there are star judges, ongoing tasks with a winner and loser each week, and of course the big name star in Oprah.
It was well produced, like all of Oprah's ventures and if her core daytime talk show crowd watches, then the show will be fine.
What I did find funny is how they have their "Omarosa", and other similar characters to past reality shows.

and I almost forgot - instead of the boardroom where you could be fired, you meet and you either give big or you go home. very similar IMO.

I caught it bit of it towards the end, I didn't realize
they were competing for money but than again
from what I understand the contestants didn't
know they were in for a million either, the winner that is.

I'm not sure I understand... I heard this show was about helping others. So each contestant has to "give big" in the boardroom? Is it their own money they're giving, or does this mean they're supposed to run a non profit or something?

they are given 2500 seed money each week and a person to "help". they then put on events to raise as much money as possible for that person. they are then judged on BOTH how much they raise plus their overall efforts by the judges.
they will be going from state to state each week it looks like. so far it is actually pretty good and i can not believe I am saying that, lol

I'll try to remember to watch The Big Give next week, I think it will be very informative. I want to start a non-profit myself so watching other people's fundraising efforts will be educational.

There is a lot of controversy going on about this show, saying that its fake, which I kinda thought it was... I mean... Why is there a need for a television show? Just GIVE. I work for a non-profit and I dont see the need to be on tv saying how great I am because I am giving money and time. Not only that, but the winners receive a million dollars. Shit... for a million dollars how many of you wouldnt stop what you were doing for a week and helps someone else out?? Show me people who do things for others WITHOUT being rewarded for it.

Another pretty good show this week. The team with Andre Agassi raised over $500,000 and the other team raised over $175,000 for their school. Regardless of the overall theme of this show, each week they are REALLY doing a lot of good in the communities they are in. Really amazing how much can be raised and done when you get celebrities and TV involved. To bad it cant be like that all of the time.

I thought last night's show got it right again. There was no way they could overlook that girl winging on stage and just creating general problems all through the show. She was this show's "Omarosa" and it is good to see her eliminated.

I haven't really seen this show yet, as I have been busy every time it has come on. I want to try to catch it next weekend though.

Honestly I hope the producers go back and help that family with the 24 special needs kids... I think it's a travesty that they get a party in their garage with $500 worth of Chinese food and decorations when that other family had their mortgage paid off, American Girl and Saks Fifth Avenue shopping sprees and a new truck.

the other team just did a way way way better job with their family. The one family still got something, which is ultimately better then nothing at all.

I watched it tonight. I thought the two guys did good on their parts. But i personally thought the woman could have done more.

I AGREE 100%. The right person did win. He went well above and beyond on the last few shows.
IMO the beauty queen was there JUST for TV and ratings.
