I would also say this was the beginning of the worlds longest fictional 'love story' so to speak that is Lois Lane and Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent.

I would also wager to say Superman is one of, if not, the most successful comic character ever. Movies, Radio, numerous TV shows etc
