Who is watching this show? It is great!

He is an immortal guy, who is a cop in NYC, and has lived in NYC for 4 centuries. He is searching for his ONE true love. When he finds her, he will finally be able to grow old.

The first 2 shows have been REALLY WELL DONE.

More info at http://www.fox.com/newamsterdam/

the second show was almost "CSI"-like. he is a cop and they are solving cases. It just seems that something from his past (his VAST past) always pops up. I LOVE the fact that his children, from many different past lives, are involved with him after their parents (and his previous wife or girlfriend) have died (since they were not "the one true love" that made him mortal again).
Good second show. this show seems to be here to stay.

I watched the second episode on the FOX site last night and found it interesting. Not sure yet if I understand the main character though; at times he seemed like a friendly guy who cares about his (unusual) family, at other times he seemed to be acting like a jerk.

I think they are making him out to be "frustrated" with the fact that he has been alive for centuries and searching for this "perfect love" and i think he gets bored, at least that is what it looks like to me.

This is interesting even though it has sort of been done. It is almost like the Highlander TV series Flash Backs and all but no be-heading.

There have been other series with 'immortal' detectives but they were usually Vampires like 'Forever Knight' and 'Blood Ties'.

I have enjoyed the first 3 episodes so far. I was not expecting that at the end of last nights though with the Doctor Sara being married......

You know I would not be surprised if his partner Eva is his long lost love that makes him mortal. I could be wrong but maybe after he keeps looking he will realize his 'love' is/has been in front of him in his detective partner....You never know and I could see this 'twist' being thrown in...

THAT WAS A SHOCK and I also wonder why he almost died when she was first around him, yet now he can be around her without the pain in his heart happening.

I agree it could be his partner, but wouldn't he feel something by now. all they talk about is how he will know. Also, if he finds his true love, wont the show just end, lol

Wouldn't it kinda suck to find true love and then die immediately? I'd think it would make him want to stick around.

Another strong show Monday night. The rape case Amsterdam was working on reminded him of another virgin woman he once knew hundreds of years before that he was involved with. It is an interesting angle that they keep using with every current police case relating to a past experience of the hundreds and hundreds of years old Amsterdam. It makes each show almost 2 shows in one.

Spock - you like how they conveniently made the doctor's marriage on the rocks and she is seperated. The horse and carriage thing was unique, but as someone who actually lived in NYC, I thought it was funny how there was no traffic as they were slowly driving on the horse and carriage through lower downtown. lol And then they kissed under the bridge and no heart attack for him. Maybe she is "the one", but what sucks is if she is not, then she is just another throw away woman in his 500 year old life.

I thought that was interesting but I still do not believe Dr. Sara is the one. But I guess that can change depending on how long the show lasts.

I would still bet my money on Eva being the one. I dunno why but I just have a feeling.

So what just 2-3 more episodes? Is the show moving days? Or maybe they did not make many due to strike? as I saw last night Bones and House (Finally back) are moving to Mondays...

I hope it is not canceled but sounds like although not mentioned officially it is. The ratings have have fallen steadily from the 13 million + when it first aired to just over 6...

That was pretty good last night I thought for the most part. Season Finale next week. Sure hope it is renewed.

Seemed to be an issue if Fox was even going to show this show last fall, glad they did though.

So it seems the Doctor is not his 'true love'. I thought that from the start. ha Plus it will be too early for him to die anyway, especially if and I do hope another season.

I still stand by my view that Eva is the one, I can feel it in my bones. ha ha

Sometimes the thing(s) you want is right in front of you but you can not see it..

When you think about it to it makes sense in a way, she is his partner and the longer the show goes on the more he may develop feelings for her, he will trust her more, she will know more about him, he will let her into his life more.

He will have more girlfriends and hook ups but Eva will be the one that is always there. Eventually he may see the 'light'.

I dunno I am not good at describing the 'mushy stuff' ha ha but I would not bet against it being Eva that is his 'true love'.

Finding the slug in the sand was pretty incredible, almost as incredible as the guy with the metal detector being there at exactly the same time and being that close to a dead body on the beach.
Also, I am starting to agree with you about Eva. I knew once that mobster said he was "dead" that he would be eventually shot later on the show, only to survive, of course, lol.

What I am starting to not believe is that anyone would not start to see this stuff. He has publicly died over and over again and it has to get a little obvious that something is going on, haha.

looking forward to the final show of the season and this show BETTER be renewed.

The season finales was pretty good. I am somewhat surprised Sara still does not believe him, especially since he had been shot twice and healed quick.

He should get Sara to do a DNA test on him and his son Omar.

I wonder if he will have a relationship with his female boss? whose name I can not remember off hand?

I sure hope this show returns..

I saw it - why would she, or anyone believe him, lol. It is crazy to even consider. I guess he could easily prove it with blood tests with his bartending son like you mentioned, but why?

I think he will hook up with the boss. they seem to be giving her more screen time. I LOVE this show and really hope it will be back also.
