| Isn't there another Simpsons thread here somewhere? lol. IDK...I'm having de ja vou. (sp?) I hardly ever watch the Simpson anymore. I'm more of a Family Guy type.

| The earlier episodes were good, however I don't really find the new stuff entertaining anymore. It is a little washed out nowadays.

I like this show, classic is still the best....
can't wait for the new season ..  . they very funny , my favorite episodes are homer's....

A show that has been around as long as the Simpsons is bound to attract some haters.
However, the easiest barometer of the current success of the Simpsons is easy to track. In an age when some shows get canned after just 1 episode, the Simpsons are over 400 strong, and show no signs of stopping. If it weren't pulling ratings and making money for Fox, they wouldn't keep it. Fox is the MOST fickle of all the major networks like this.
Also, something that often gets overlooked in my opinion, is the fact that the Simpsons is one of the most "smartly" written shows ever. The humor is simultaneously intricate and boorish. They are equal opportunity offenders---there isn't a sub-section of our world that they don't consistenly make fun of. It is this fact that gives them the license to continue making jabs.
I think the accolades and hyperbole are well deserved for the Simpsons...in my opinion:
"Best...show...ever"

| After nearly 19 seasons I still find the Simpsons to be one of the better cartoons on TV. Not every episode is great, but they have their moments.
