WOW were many of the men on the first night of the finals BAD BAD BAD. Who picks these songs??? I always wonder that because many of them are really bad. And as always Simon is the only one who is honest and makes sense and gives real opinions to the performers. Randy is a little better this year, and Paula is pointless on the panel.
In my opinion....
The Bad:
Sundance was horrible, which was sad because I like him.
Sanjaya is CREEPY, strange and was SO BORING. Why would he ever sing a song that says "I don't want to bore you" and then sing a song that put the audience to sleep??
Paul Kim was bad. that simple - bad.
Chris - please cut your Weird Al hair. And the song he sang was just OK.
Jared - I love the real song he sang, but it was boring.
The Better:
BEAT BOX BLAKE did a good job! Here is guy who has a chance because of his versatility. He can actually sing and do the hip hop beat box thing.
AJ was good. Finally someone who looked like they were having fun and had some energy.
Phil was OK, as Simon said - OK

The women started off WAY WAY better then the men.
The Bad
Amy - Simon said she had the personality of a candle, which was burst out loud funny.
Leslie was no good. she butchered a big song.
Antonella - she is pretty, but that does change the fact that she sang pretty bad. Really pitchy as the "dog pound" said.
The Good
Stephanie - kicked off the show with a lot of energy, emotion and fun.
Sabrina - an early favorite in the competition. A great performance on the first night.

More feedback from the women -
The Bad
In the middle:
Nicole - has a good voice, but the song was way out there. She definitely has talent, but weird song.
Haley - will not remember her performance.
The Good
Jordan - I liked her. Alot of personality and a lot of voice
Melinda - another front runner and she was great tonight. No more back up singing for her.
LaKisha was excellent. Hit the big notes

Paul is the first contestant to be voted off.
Amy is the second to go.
American made the right choices in my opinion.
Nicole is sent home. She was pretty bad in her one shot on the big stage.

| I wasnt sad about 3 of them leaving, was sad about Paul. But tired of seeing his feet anyways, ughh, I HATE feet! lol, then Ryan came out with his long boney ugly feet, ick.

Some highlights, but a couple of duds. The first half was much weaker than the second.

| i really think the guys are weak in general so far and the women look much stronger. I thought Chris and Blake were pretty good.

The American voting public showed again HOW WRONG they can be by voting off AJ instead of Sanjaya - who was HORRIBLE this week. It was almost a crime.
Antonella, even with her semi porn pictures surfacing this week was voted back for another week.
Just a side note - the sobbing by the other contestants is a little ridiculous and silly. Also I wish one of these people who gets voted off would just slam down the mic and walk off the stage pissed off and not sing the final song. That would be great.

I agree! The boohooing makes me sick! Especially Sundance, he such a big cry baby.

Brandon gets voted off. In the ULTIMATE joke on the country, Sanjaya makes it another week. the Howard Stern show has started a campaign to have people vote for him to keep him on the show to display what a joke the show has become. he looked shocked last night THAT HE WAS STILL ON THE SHOW and was not voted off. It was funny.
The men really are outclassed by the women this year.

^hehehe.. yeah. kinda funny...Sanjaya had a weak performance that night.. anyway, who's your bet in the final 12? My bet is Melinda Doolittle.. she rocks on the 1st performance night on the final 12!! really powerful voice and performance she got. A lot of potential to win...but we'll just see.

| she is TO GOOD to win. In my opinion she is this years Chris Daughtry and everyone will be shocked when she goes out before the finals. Remember the public is voting and last year proved that they have NO IDEA what they are doing.. lol

I don't like any of them. I faithfully followed the series for evrey run, but this year, I jsut can't seem to get into it!
The Aretha Franklin show was the final straw for me. I HATED it!
