Think having three wives is a dream come true? Meet Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton), a modern-day Utah polygamist who lives in suburban Salt Lake City with his three wives, seven children, and a mounting avalanche of debt and demands. The owner of a growing chain of home improvement stores, Bill struggles to balance the financial and emotional needs of Barb, Nicki and Margene (Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloë Sevigny and Ginnifer Goodwin), who live in separate, adjacent houses and take turns sharing their husband each night. While managing the household finances together and routinely sharing "family home nights," they try to keep simmering jealousies in check and their arrangement a secret — polygamy is illegal in Utah and banned by the mainstream Mormon Church. Adding to Bill's woes are a series of crises affecting his parents (Bruce Dern and Grace Zabriskie), who live on a fundamentalist compound in rural Utah, and his ruthless father-in-law, Roman (Harry Dean Stanton), the powerful head of the polygamist commune where his parents live. Bold, funny and wholly original, Big Love explores the evolving institution of marriage through a typical atypical family.

The first season is just out on DVD for anyone who wants to catch up before the premiere of season 2.

| Oh i can't wait for this to start here again! Loved the first season!! I didn't think it would be my sort of thing, but it's priceless, done well enough i love it and hubby does too!!!

| the first season was a blast. at first, i thought i'll be bored with it, but the series proved me wrong

| The first show of the new season was a good one. the family is under fire from being exposed and Barb (the first wife) is under a lot of pressure. Bill is obsessed with finding out who exposed them at the Parent of the year awards (at the end of last season), but if basically told to back off. Barb leaves the house for a few days, but comes back. Nicki's wacko compound father calls Bill and tells him that regardless of their differences in the past they are together on the issue of protecting their multi family ways. A Hummer truck that looks strangely like one of the compounds runs the woman they think exposed them into another creating and accident. That was a strange twist that I wonder how will play out. was a good show that started off STRONG and right where last season ended. Looking forward to Monday nights now (at least until Prison Break and Heroes comes back from break)

I cant believe the Bill's brother is basically turning against him...and then he falls off the wagon and then turns himself in for the poinsoning. This week's show starts in 5 minutes! I can't wait.

turns out Bill's brother basically confessed because he was told to by the evil leader of the compound (Nicki's father. Turns out he wants to but a company and needs a unanimous vote from the council. Nicki and Bill go to the compound for a big event.
Nicki goes to see her father and tells him that she and Bill are staying in his house. She tells him to keep up her end and settle things with him.
Bill's entire family at the compund is wacky as ever, including his mom. Bill goes to her house and his brother is there with a naked hottie who is a new wife. They find out that Bill's mom has bought a laundry mat.
It appears the Roman (the profit's) new wife to be has wondering eyes for other men, which is funny. Roman tells Albe (sp?) to go and clear Bill's brother and in exchange Bill will vote for buying the gambling/gaming company that Roman wants to buy.
Back at the homes, the rest of the family all gather for games and hanging out.
towards the end of the night Bill and Roman are in the living room and Roman is holding his young child. Roman seems to care about family first and Bill tells him to fix the mess with his brother. It is about the first almost normal conversation they have had in a while.
Nicki and Bill talk late at night in the back yard and kiss and start to fool around, which is completely wrong and Nicki is all worried about being caught, but they end up doing it on the ground in the dirt anyway.
Roman goes to Albe's house in the middle of the night and threatens him to go immediately and recant the charges against Bill's brother.
Albe, upset about all of this tells Nicki that Roman was the one who set up Barb. And that he went to the police and did not do what Roman told him to do and that he turned in Bill and Roman and their coverup with the company purchase in exchange for freeing Bill's brother. He warns Nicki about this.
Ben (one of the kids) is having sex and is confused about what it means for his religious beliefs. He decides to go with his friend who is part of a cult like organization.
Nicki tells Bill to hurry and get ready and leave because the police are coming to arrest him. They leave the compound right before the police get there. Bill holds Nicki's hand. She is crying because of everything and having to leave so early and the deception of her brother.
Bill talks to his partner on the phone and they talk about purchasing the same company that Roman is looking at with the video poker machines.
Then in a shocker, the young girl who is supposed to be marrying Roman shows up at Barb's house for support ( it seems)
Good show again tonight. Each week this show never fails to come through with strong shows.
