Anyone else trying to watch this? I watched the first one and have to admit that it did not grab me right away like Deadwood, The Sopranos or even Sex Feet Under did.

I understand trying to establish the characters and at the same time build a little intrigue, but I also think you can go overboard with that to the point of losing some viewers interest.

So this week we learn that the family is dysfunctional (VERY) and all were great surfers and the son might also be a great surfer. Also a stranger arrives who repeats himself over and over and repeats what others say. Is this interesting, I am not sure yet.

Also a dead bird seems to come back to life, one of the main characters levitates in a moment of madness? newfound power? who knows? He thinks it might be a brain tumor and he is hallucinating.

It was nice to see Al Bundy back on a show and in a juicier acting role. I am going to give this show a few weeks and see if it grows on me.
