I think Paulie will be a goner soon. he just wont shut up. if you read my recap above I really think that. I agree with you about Junior. When he peed himself I felt bad and when he got his ass kicked I felt bad also.

Man is Tony going off the deep end. Everything is in excess. The gambling, etc. I think a lot of people could be getting clipped soon. This could be a VERY bloody final few shows...

I was pretty disappointed in last season, although I still enjoyed it. But this season seems better to me. I am real sad this is the last season ... it feel so wrong!

I bet they replace it with another similar show to fill the gap ... or, at least I hope so!

Well I agree that this season so far is better then last season, but I am a little concerned that they are not connecting everything. This week Tony's extreme gambling problem came out of nowhere and his issues with Jews and people he has never had issues with before. I understand he is unraveling, but I worry that this is an uneven and rushed dash to the finish. With only a few shows left there are tons of story lines that just have very little importance to anything. I hope in the end, the show as a whole, will be watched like one long long movie and in its entirety be am amazing story, from beginning to end. The past 2 seasons have been choppy at best IMO.

OK, now it is official. EVERYONE is cracking up on the show and literally everyone could be the cause of the downfall of the entire family. Tonight's drunken murder by Christopher just proved that even more. And maybe they are setting up AJ to move into the role of taking over the family.
As I have posted before, I do think that before this show ends in a few weeks Paulie is going to get clipped. The bodies are about to start piling up.

OH MY GOD - what a start to the show tonight. Christopher is dead just like that.
And then what a big turn around by the end of the show with Tony doing drugs. Interesting fusion from begining to end of the show. And now he is winning with his gambling again. Was chilling when he told the shrink that the death was a weight off his mind.
The tension between the 2 mob families is escalating and I think will play a big roll in the end of the show, as shown in the preview for next weeks show.

Only 2 shows left now. Tonight was just as intense as the past weeks. AJ tries to kill himself in the pool and Tony comes home just in time to save him. Meadow is insulted and Tony takes out retribution on the guys face and teeth. This is obviously the story line that will build to the climax in the next 2 and finally shows.

The war is officially on and the casualties were many tonight. Tony and his entire family (literally family and mob family) are in hiding as the 2 sides are ready to square off in public.Bobby is killed shopping for model trains. A hit on the other side goes wrong and Sil is in the hospital and it looks bad for him (also shot)
I do not see any way this ends with Tony not .getting killed or the feds sweeping in to stop the war and arrest everyone. I cant believe it is all over next week.
I am sad about that.

I am VERY sad it is over next week, that is just wrong! I am getting creeped out with everyone dying, too. How the hell did they mess up on Phil like that, that was lame.

no I think it was well planned. Phil put the job in place to kill Tony and was the aggressor. He set everything in motion and then went into temporary hiding. the Italian guys messed up because of poor management, which seems to be what always happens. Someone else runs the job and it gets screwed up and eventually Tony has to get his hands dirty to fix the situation, just like what is about to happen.

Hi:

Does anybody knows if on Sunday 5-27 was a chapter that I missed of TS?...My Dish recorder did not recorded the Sopranos chapter that day. (I was working).

I also don't see replays on HBO for that date on the week 5-28  to 6-3.

Thanks,
CR.

WOW - what a final show. I for one am completely happy with the ending and fact that the creator of the show kept us guessing like he has for the past 8+ years. I thought the ending was perfect for many reasons. We don't know if they were killed, or if Tony was arrested, or what Meadow walked into in the restaurant - maybe nothing, just a normal meal at a restaurants - who knows.
I love the fact that there could someday be a movie or some continuation of the show...but maybe not at all. I will greatly miss the show.

Here is a great story I found online about the final show. Please note there are spoileres in the story below

And in the end on "The Sopranos" ...By Charlie McCollum
Mercury News
San Jose Mercury News

Wait! If you recorded the series finale of "The Sopranos" on Sunday or plan to watch it later in the week on HBO, stop reading now! This story is loaded with "spoilers" about what happened in the series' last hour. ... David Chase, the show's creator, threw one last nasty changeup to viewers, especially those fans of the series who have speculated for months, if not years, as to how it would end.
Sunday's final moments, played out against "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, took place in a New Jersey ice cream parlor. First, Tony Soprano arrived, followed by his wife Carmela and their son A.J. A suspicious-looking guy came into the place, echoing more than one scene in the "Godfather" trilogy.
Outside, daughter Meadow Soprano was having trouble trying to park her car. More guys who could be seeking a permanent end to Tony and his family filtered into the ice cream parlor. Meadow finally parked, ran toward the restaurant, Tony looked toward the door - and the music ended and the screen went black.
The jaw-dropping ending either was an acknowledgment by Chase that no final scene, no climax, would satisfy an audience after 86 episodes of the most emotionally and intellectually complex series in the history of television - or it was one hell of a joke on the viewers.
People could read all manner of things into those last few moments. Did the whole family get whacked? Possible. Did Meadow come in to discover a blood bath after being delayed, and therefore saved, by her inability to parallel park? Possible. Did life go on with the Soprano family and Tony's crime family? Possible, since the episode was imbedded with twists (including the death of Tony's New York nemesis, Phil Leotardo) suggesting things might have gone back to what passes for normal in Soprano world.
One thing for certain: It was just one last, brilliant example of Chase refusing to live within the conventions of television. In a world where resolution is expected, no previous great television series ever has gone out on such a high note of ambiguity, such a lack of denouement.
Other shows have ended satisfyingly. (Carrie wound up with Mr. Big on "Sex and the City.") They've ended with a last burst of creativity. (Remember the surrealistic final episode of "Homicide: Life On the Streets.") They've ended with a superb twist that brought closure to fans (such as the "dream" sequence that closed "Newhart.")
"The Sopranos" did none of those things. Instead, it probably left most viewers going, WHAT????? And then talking among themselves about what they just had seen.
Separate from those last moments, the last hour of this invigorating and distinctive mix of family drama, gangster film and satirical comedy actually felt like a conventional finale. Each of the remaining major characters (some had exited bloodily in previous episodes) had at least one major scene as Chase touched all the emotional bases.
The Leotardo whack job was a final example of the mix of gore and humor that has been a "Sopranos" hallmark. There was a last scene between Tony and his sister Janice, with the ever-greedy, ever-scheming Janice looking for a new meal ticket after the death of husband Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri.
There were tense family scenes involving Meadow and A.J. and their parents. (At times, it seemed as if the whole Soprano clan was in denial about the mob war swirling around them.) And, in perhaps the most compelling moments, Tony had one last visit with Uncle Junior, now senile and living in a nursing home.
When Uncle Junior didn't recognize him, Tony said, "You and my dad, you two ran North Jersey."
"We did? That's nice," said Uncle Junior.
I'm sure there will be those frustrated by Sunday's abrupt ending to a series they've loved. But the fact is that we have loved "The Sopranos" precisely because it didn't follow the rules, creating something rich and rare.
So even if you wanted to throw something at the screen Sunday night, recall a piece of dialogue from the episode when A.J. said to Tony, "Isn't that what you told always told me: Try to remember the times that were good?"
For eight years, "The Sopranos" has been the best of times.

I thought that last night episode my DVR player malfunctioned. Then I recorded the show later on in a different hour and the ending was the same.....

Just when Meadow was opening the door of the Ice cream parlor, Tony looked worried and trying to reach his gun?

I don't know but that ending wasn't good at all.

The Italian solitary guy looking at the Sopranos and going to the restroom...to get a gun just like  Michael (Al Pacino) did on the God Father?....

Then the black guys entering just before Meadow....

What the heck?

Why not a real ending...Phil Leotardo got whacked, and "his world" went to crash his head....

Perhaps the ending is to hide the fact that the real mob is well alive and operating all over the world....mo matter what...

Anyways, I will miss the show. You learn a thing or two even from the "bad guys".

I liked the fact that even though that AJ and Meadow were raised in that kind of environment, they ended up being a normal and productive young adults...and Tony and Carmela were happy for that fact.

Me too, I am happy. It does not matter in what kind of environment you were raised, you always can overcome your "demons" with success if you set your mind to it. ( and some help from God of course).

AJ normal??? far from it.

to the people who are not happy with the ending I say this...
WHAT exactly did you want?
Did you want him killed?
Did you want his family killed?
Did you want him arrested?
Did you want him injured?
Did you want..Did you want...Did you want???

Everyone wanted something different. This ending was original and brilliant and yes, it does leave the show open for a lot of possibilities...or nothing. Over time this ending will be more and more known for it's brilliance. Just the fact that there are 500 PAGES of posts on the HBO site says it all. Perfect ending...
