I have seen all 6 seasons on DVD and they are all good. Except when in one chapter, they say that the Mexicans (me) are only low income employees or something like that.

the show will probably go down as the greatest body of TV work in history for a variety of reasons. First, since it was a "cable series" and on HBO, they had the ability to be much grittier, darker and include swearing, nudity, and other elements that will always be lacking from normal American network television.
Taken as a whole unit, and watched straight through, if you could sit through all 6 seasons in one sitting like a very long movie - and that is what the show really is - A GREAT classic movie about a mob family in New Jersey, that has been cut into one hour chapters.
The comment you mention rubiocesar is definitely offensive, but keeping with their old world Italian mob characters - Tony and his crew pretty much have issues and problems with EVERYONE who is not Italian. The consistency has been one of the great things about the show.
Personally I can not wait until the final shows begin in the next month of so. Then I am going to do what you did, and watch the entire show again from beginning .... to end.

Do you think Tony Soprano will be "whacked"?

Just like Al Pacino in Scarface and Edward James Olmos on American me?

I have really enjoyed this show for the most part - the first couple of seasons are without parallel. However, to me, the last season and the beginning of this one have made watching a bit of a chore. I will be glad when it is over so that I can finally break the habit. Lately I seem to watch only because I don't want to miss something good if anything finally happens. Kinda like watching SNL.

I agree with you and I think they stayed a little to long earlier this season with the extended dream sequence with Tony in the hospital. It dragged a little when they could have easily spent that time following the other characters, who are also strong, and one of them could lead to a spin off series, movie, or something else. Also, while there was nothing wrong with the homosexual gangster part of the show (my pun to Seinfeld), it was so out of character for the show, that I almost think they were stretching to be outrageous and relevant (when they did not have to do that), instead of just sticking to the topic matter what made the show so good before that.

I am a Sopranos fan but it was too slow last season, too much "semi-boring" real drama, etc.

I think it is just as good as all the other seasons... but for me... I watched most of the others as they came out on DVD... there was just TOO LONG of a break before it came back. I felt like I had already gotten over it being canceled or something then poof it was back.

Almost like an on again off again romance.

I am just waiting to see the rest so I can cancel HBO!! LOL!

The Sopranos is the best show on TV, even if they have slipped a bit, nothing else comes close.  I can't wait for the return, I'm watching reruns on A&E.

I think Tony has to get whacked to end it, I think NY will kill off the NJ family.  That would be Godfatheresq!

Yeah, I'm Puerto Rican and they constantly diss us.

I like the show. I try to block out the racist references. Bottom line though... that's how they talk in North Jersey, Staten Island and Long Island.

I watched it and enjoyed it. A little disappointed but overall I always enjoy it. I like how each show creeps me out! Tony is really getting soft nowadays!

I watched it. Great start to the show with Tony being arrested to start the show. A big show of force with the police at their house and then Tony in the lockup while a guy takes a crap was wild.
Phil comes home from the hospital and has a party with his gang. He says he is taking it easy, but we all know difference.
Tony and the wife go to the country to be with his sisters family. He is relaxing a little and he gets a BJ for his 47th birthday, lol.
AJ is having people over while his parents are away and hooking up in Tony's bed.
Tony celebrates his birthday up at the lake and gets a few more presents. He also talks about the future of the family and his plans with Bobby. They also do some terrible karaoke and then play some games.
The LINE of the show is about the rules of the board games by Bobby. "You know the Parker brothers took a long time to think up the rules and I think we should respect that." GREAT LINE.
You take the mobster out of the city and his life is almost...normal....until Bobby and Tony start throwing blows because they are drunk and Tony is insulting his sister (Bobby's wife). The fight is funny with 2 fat guys fighting. I was pretty impressed with Bobby kicking tony's ass.
Tony sitting at the end of the dock all by himself reminded me of the end of the Godfather movies with the Godfather sitting alone and falling off the chair and dying. But he is really sitting there thinking about how he is physically not able to do the same things anymore. Christopher calls to say Happy Birthday and Tony hangs up on him. Bobby and Tony leave for their meeting. Their contacts are going to sell them expired medical pills. Bobby goes to wack one of the guys brother in laws to lower the price. he does it, but the guy he shoots grabs his shirt and tears it. This might come back to haunt him (and them) later. It is crazy to see him come home and hug his kids and smile at his family right after executing the guy.

A good first episode for the final 9 to really set everything up.

FINALLY back to some blood and killing on the show - like the old days. Good episode this week. Lots of reflecting by the "bosses".
I originally thought that the doctor helping John in prison is a plant to gain his trust and get info. He is giving him info about what is going on with the mob hits outside of the prison. But John dies in the hospital with his family around him in this show.
Good to see Christopher's movie finally come to reality. But he put in a scene that Carmella is upset about that she thinks is about Tony and having sex with other women. She is actually correct about it. Christopher is worried about what Tony thinks and if he put that scene in the movie so he has the co-producer go talk to Tony and say it was his idea. Funny scene.
Tony goes to therapy and has doubts about Christophers feelings about him.

The Feds are getting closer and closer to Tony, even stuff from over 25 years ago starts popping up. The Feds start digging under a house to find remains from Tony's first killing.

Junior is running a poker game at the halfway house he is detained in. It is almost as if he is "playing" mobster inside the place with the other crazy people. Buttons are used as currency for poker and other things. Junior has a new young guy who is like his soldier who he tells stories to and he helps Junior. He is a little crazy also.
After seeing the FBI digging for the body Tony and Paulie take a drive together to Miami, Florida to "lay low". While they are driving they are remembering back to a trip from years and years back and want to stop at a hotel they use to stay at in the 70's, but it is gone and replaced with a new hotel. They stay there anyway and reminisce from the old days. Like the past few weeks, everyone is remembering "the good old days", and everyone is wondering how they will be remembered. Paulie tells a lot of stories about Tony's father and the trips they use to go on together.

Back to Junior, he and his young friend meet with his mother, who is obviously uncomfortable with her son spending time with the aging mobster and she tells him that he is acting like a bully and a gangster now, like Junior. It is an interesting scene.
Tony finds out that the Feds found a body and ID'd it. Tony is worried but Sil says not to worry. Paulie will not stop talking to everyone, telling stories like it is the old days. Tony tells him to lay low.
One of the guys who works where Juniors is being held has him signing pictures of himself and selling the autographed pictures on Ebay, which is funny.
Tony and Paulie visit with one of the old mobsters who is living in Miami and is old and in a wheel chair. He has some old pictures of Tony's father and Paulie when he was younger. It is more thinking about the past and wondering about the future. They keep eating and have a bunch of REALLY young girls hanging out with them, telling old stories. Tony is still worried that Paulie is just talking WAY to much about old killings and ganster things they did. He IS TALKING way to much.
Back to Junior, he is mad at a crazy professor who is also in the helf way house and who rated on him about the poker game. he gets in a fight with him and actually beats him down. Old men fighting!!!! The people running the facility change his medicine and it makes him sleep all the time. His young friend tells him what is going on so they start finding a way for him to fake taking them so he wont be so sluggish. Soon after Junior is back to his old self. Telling jokes and stories and getting all the other nuts riled up. Junior pees himself and is embarrassed, which gives away that he is not taking his meds. The orderly that was helping him has been fired and Junior decides to take his meds. The young kid who was looking up to him wants to keep doing stuff, but Junior is "beaten" and tired. Later Junior goes to see the young guy who is in his room by himself and now he is all depressed also. these guys are all nuts. At group singing later the young kid has now lost it completely and rushes Junior and beats him really badly.

Tony has sex with the young hooker/girl who was at the dinner table with him. After sex they talk a little and again Tony hears that Paulie is talking about "the business" with others. Paulie and Tony go to meet with a bunch of local gangsters. Paulie is all bravado and tough guy. Tony works out a deal with trucks going both ways filled with stolen merchandise so both groups benefit and move their stolen goods. Tony meets with the Florida retired mob guy privately and they talk about Paulie's bravado and how much he talks. They realize that Paulie is so so old school that he is potentially a threat if he does not shape up. Tony is literally worried about Paulie and the fact that he does nothing legit. Tony goes back to the hotel and gets a call that they are in the clear on the body that they found. The feds have it pinned on someone else. Tony goes out on the balcony and can hear Paulie sitting in his room all by himself, laughing crazily while watching TV by himself.

Tony tells Paulie that they are off the hook and suggests that they go deep see fishing. Tony rents a big boat and Paulie is suspicious.  Paulie remembers back to when they killed Big Pussy. It is a real powerful day dream. Personally I think Tony has a lot to worry about with Paulie's big mouth. Paulie starts cooking a big meal for both of them on the boat while Tony sits out back. they sit together and there are some tense moments. Tony suspects and pretty much knows that Paulie told Johnie Sac about the joke about his huge fat wife. Paulie is nervous and knows something is up because Tony keeps asking if he told John about the joke. He says it was not him, but it way. Tony goes below to get them a drink. He is really torm about what to do. It looks like he is going to knife him, but just throws him a beer. Man, I was BARELY breathing during all of these scenes.

They head home. Later Paulie is dreaming in his bed and he sees Big Pussy in his kitchen. He wakes up and his really freaked out and starts working out. He sends tony and Carmelo a $2000 coffee machine. He clearly is worried about his life.

the last scene is crazy as Phil makes a power play and has the very new boss of his family killed outside of a restaurant. They drop a gun at the scene. it will be interestign to see if that comes back to haunt them. Tony is being driven nuts by Paulie's talking and talking and telling stories.

The show ends with a very banged up and pissed off Junior sitting outside petting a cat. He is old, crazy at times, and helpless. Very powerful.

I can not wait until next week.

So what did you think of last nights episode?  Looks like Uncle Junior is pretty much out of it.

And I think Paulie thought he was a goner too. :-9
